Gym Supplements

Did they not include a scoop in the protein?
I think it's in there somewhere but i just came from gym and even though i washed my hands twice, i also touched my phone, so i didn't want to dig around in the protein tub right then and there :p

Chrome supplements seem to have abandoned the international products and have a limited range now. Must be the Rand Dollar effect.

I'm thinking about a whey and post workout, currently have evox synergy whey mp5 but considering the nutritech whey - anyone recommend one? Also when should I take it, I ask because my buddy just gave me his l-glutamine which I used postworkout.

Anyone try a preworkout? Was looking at the nutritech nuke original, but honestly don't know if it's a good idea.

I switch between NPL hyperpump if its later in the day or NO Charge. The Charge is pretty good but feels on the stronger side to me (not complaining)

I use Nutritech Vaso NO3. a good dose of basic solid ingredients. no caffiene as well which means even if you work your way up to 2 scoops no risk of too much caffiene. I just have a coffee with it. Also can be had for R230 when on special (fairly regularly).

Wrt Nutritech whey, the taste is good, the price is good, it doesnt hit my stomach hard. So from my side I like it. I dont know if the nutritional info is correct but ive had good experiences with it.

Ok thanks guys, I'll get 1 tub of Nutritech and see how it goes. I still have an issue about knowing when to take it though, I know many people (and even the brands themselves) say use whey protein post work-out, but I also have a small tub of L-glutamine that I got from a friend which I plan to use post work-out on weight training days - my question is, when should I take both of these?

Also, I'm getting the whey because I think my normal diet is lacking in proteins (vegetarian and I usually have very small breakfasts/dinners etc.)

Have you used preworkouts before? Some people have bad reactions to it the first few times they use them. Burning feeling in the ears, rashes, etc... Your body gets used to it, but whether or not that's a good thing, might not be for you...

If you want to try a milder one for cheaper, Makro has Suppliments SA Hellfire pre-workout for R139 (haven't bought this in a while, it used to be R100... dang)

Yep, that's actually one of the reasons I wasn't sure about pre work-outs - heard about people feeling uncomfortable/anxiety issues, and that's on top of the other stuff that some people go through. To be honest it's not a priority for me, but wanted to get a rough idea of what exactly to expect and what is recommended for newbies.

Ya, best wait till you find you're struggling. Pre-workouts do let you get in an extra rep or two. But the thing with sports suppliments are they are completely unregulated. I think you're safe with whey, but who really knows...

To me, who's been out of it for a while now, I see whey shakes as a healthier form of junk food. I just like the shakes :)

Good Advice use it when you start struggling but not as a regular in your routine. Get one with stimulants for that. The other type of pre is non stimulant but focused more on the pump meaning bloodflow.

For now decided to forego the pre, getting whey and looking at intra-workout - something like the nutritech amino boost 2.0 OR npl bcaa 10:1:1 - I'm almost certain these things are placebo (to a certain extent), but since it's my first time I don't mind buying a tub and seeing if it actually helps with stamina during workouts, and since it contains glutamine, means I won't need to drink the Primal L-glutamine I was having before separately.

Someone recommended Evolve Nutrition Prolong to me, but not finding it on Takealot etc.

I think you overthinking all this stuff. Just stick to the whey, it probably has more of the bcaas than the bcaa products and much cheaper. Seeing that you have the glutamine already, just add it into the whey.
Whey has pretty much all the aminos you need.

Evolve nutrition is available from supplementworld.co.za.
Very good service when I've bought from them before and great pricing

Any good deals around lately ?
I’ve seen some nice international brands at Sparta iron and next level supplements. Pricier than local (obviously) but miles better.
