Hard drive not working

I need help. My external hard drive suddenly stopped working. It's still running, there's no ticking sound. It shows up in the BIOS. I cant load windows when the hard drive is connected. Trying to format through Disk Management is also not possible as it takes forever just to right click on the partitions. It's not showing as RAW either. Any suggestions?

How old is it? Are any of the connectors damaged? If its a USB drive, try another cable. Also try another power supply

Its about 2 years old. Been running well. Just suddenly stopped working 2 days ago.

Sounds dead but try a linux livecd.
