I will have about R500 bucks on me at end of Jan to spend on a hard drive. I wanna get one that is quite big so I can keep music on and photo's too. Haw big a hard drive should I get and is there any specific make I should be looking at?? My curent hard drive is about 13.9 GB which is really too small

For R500 you should be able to get a 120gb or maybe a 160gb hard drive. I would go for a seagate drive if I were you, for 3 reasons:

1. From my experience they're very reliable
2. They have a very long guarantee, 3 - 5 years
3. They're very silent

EDIT: Above is a link to the drives I was talking about too ;)

From the place I buy, they charge an extra R50 for Seagate. Not to much if you think about the quality and guarantee. Get an Seagate.

OK great thanks. My friend is going to get it for me as he lives near CT so I will ask him to get it and he is very clued up when it comes to computers

Personally I like my Western Digital hard drives, but currently using four Seagates in my pc (insurance claim). They are not too shabby, but I'd still prefer WD...
