Good point so how does duties compare between now and then? In order to justify the cost it would need to be 200% more now.

Short answer - our government tries to tax us to death so they can steal the money or fund companies like SAA which is useless :cautious::p

So have duties gone up 200%? I'm not aware of any such so that doesn't seem to be where the money is going.
