Problem is the price of the parts, that will still come up to about R9k without monitor.

CPU isnt everything...

The 8 has the better design (but thats subjective),
the nicer AMOLED Screen,
And the better CPU but that does not necessarily mean outright better performance.

7 Plus has a more efficient CPU. (The SD 660 has been noted to be "close to flagship level"),
it also has a bigger battery. So SOT should be better than the 8;

Both have the same cameras - Installing the Pixel cam on the 7 plus gives better picture quality than the stock camera app.

The 7 plus is also comes with stock android on the android 1 program - That means guaranteed monthly security patches, and OS updates for 3 years.

Lots to think about i recon.

Personally i'd go for the 7 plus

The 8 also has stock Android and so far has received security updates every month. Also take into account the 8 is cheaper at the moment thanks to the Sirocco :-).

Ryobi Handyline HSD-360 Cordless Screw Driver, NiCAD 3.6v 600 mAH with 4 Bits (6009605028116) goes for about ~R199-R266+ everywhere else but I walked in at Somerset Mall PnP to find it priced at R99.99... not on special or anything, normal white price tag. :erm:

Ryobi CS-1480 Cordless Screw Driver 4.8v with 6 Bits (6009605024033) goes for about R232-270+ everywhere else but Makro has them for R179. Odd to see a drill bit on a screw driver.

Those are very handy and useful for DIY, despite Ryobi generally being cr4p they do work and at those prices worth it.

Had that little blue one for over 10yrs now still going strong with the same battery.
