No, you are misunderstanding the evetech pricing.. R 6300 is the special price.. R 5999 is what you pay if you pay via EFT or instant EFT.. The normal price is R 9499 and around the same price other etailers are currently asking for the monitor..

I am definitely not defending reseller scammers on Carbonite, horrible stuff.
Mybb still officially advertises for Evetech even with all the shenanigans they pull with warranty, credit and refunds.

Don't buy from evetech - horrible service and unfair business practices.

This thread should be reported (already has been reported). While you are entitled to vent your frustration, the nationality of the business owners of Evetech (or it's workers with respect to Sony) should not be part of this frustration and this shows signs of xenophobia. It also caused some...

I bought a modular PSU from a guy who had begged to not be banned.

When I got around to using it - dead as a dodo!

If I lived in Gauteng I'd be tempted to deal with them, as I could go in person and sort out issues, but I don't so I pay the premium and buy from more trustworthy folks. Also on this subject, LG will also look at any of their products that you buy from them if needed.

So tempted, but would this even be a worthwhile upgrade if my system can't reach 165 FPS to make use of the 165Hz refresh rate with G-Sync at 1440p? Can this monitor "fall back" to 60Hz with G-Sync still enabled?

I currently have:
  • Asus P8Z77-V Pro-Thunderbolt mobo
  • Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.4 GHz (yes I know, ancient... but it's still going strong!)
  • Zotac GeForce GTX 1060 AMP Edition 6GB 192bit GDDR5
  • 24" Dell UltraSharp U2412M 1920x1200 (16:10) 8ms IPS
  • 16 GB DDR3 Dual-Channel RAM @ 800 MHz
  • 500 GB Crucial MX500 SATA 6Gbps SSD
Right now I can play most AAA titles on either High or Ultra settings @ 1920x1200 60Hz.

The G-Sync range is 30-165Hz

I just upgraded from the same i5 to a 5600. Its was a huge upgrade. Still running a 970gtx at the moment though :(

It's the best screen you can get for R6000 forsure. Hardware Unboxed gave it really good reviews and it's still seen as one of the best 27" IPS displays available.

Even though your system is definitely dated, this is a great deal and will be a massive upgrade.
Prices have been going up on hardware in general - so I'd grab it while you can.

True - their TN panels had the same thing, just significantly worse.

That said, it's softer on the eyes and like a gentle "night mode" that's enabled.
Hardware Unboxed released this calibration you can use to improve the colour accuracy. Just rename the file - removing the .pdf at the end. (Should be a .icm file)

Good to know, thanks. If I hadn't bought a 48" OLED I would have bought two of these!

I dislike that manufacturers are deciding for us. I don't need to be told how my screen should be. If blue-white causes problems, that should be my choice.
