Yes, I think it would be a good option, especially for R10k. I have a Dell 43" monitor, which I would choose over the Samsung, but they're over R15k now.

ok not bad and time to decide...I guess 43" will be best to replace my monitors.
 
Not sure if it will bug you, but it did me, using a TV as a monitor, is that they don’t have the feature to turn on the monitor when your PC starts or wake from sleep/idle (screensaver)

Not a huge issue if you are using the pc the majority of the time to game on, but it got old as an office monitor.
Text clarify is/was another issue

Samsung no longer offer the 5 year warranty option for premium TVs. Now 3 year.

I called few place to confirm. So I went with the LG C1.

Samsung online disagrees with that. Signature service is still a thing with the 5 years.

No, they need to change their terms and conditions. That online store is run by Audiovision who is just a distriutor. They will not honour it. Legally you could maybe fight it but they won't do it. I saw that and that is why I phoned Samsung.

Nope wrong again. Qn90b listed as 5 years and not 3...

I literally was there to buy the QN90B TV but they changed it from 5 years total to 3. I said I would buy it if they could still offer the 5 year total signature service warranty. They could not. I called the managed and also phoned Hirsch who also told me it was recently changed.

Interesting...

had multiple calls with a rep from the estore - and I clearly asked if it 2 years + 3 years for 5 years of total warranty, and that was confirmed.

I will be sure to get this in writing after installation.

I phoned 3 different stores to try to get the 5 years. One sales rep thought that it was still 5 years so I got him to check. He then also informed me that Samsung had changed it. Hirschs, Audiovision and Samsung Store.

If you can get it in writing on your tax invoice, then they have to honour it though.

Surely the TV must have a time out setting or you can set a blank screen as the screensaver to protect the display from burn in?
Text clarity wouldn’t be a TV issue if it’s a good display, rather screen size to resolution problem?

The issue is not about it turning off automatically, all TV's do that when the source (console, GPU, etc) "sleeps"

The issue is when you then come back to your PC, and try to "wake" the monitor by moving your mouse/keyboard. You will actually need to turn the TV back on with its remote.

Text clarity can definitely be an issue, depending on the sub-pixel layout

From that rtings review:
It has decent text clarity, but some programs don't support its BGR subpixel layout, negatively impacting text clarity.

This is also an issue with OLED's WRGB.

Not an issue if you are primarily game, but not great for an 8+hours per day office monitor IMO
