Long story short, I'm spending more time in Cape Town than Joburg in the near future. So my old monitor stays in Joburg

Those stand are super flimsy and made on the cheap. Stick with Dell as dell will also come to next day service If your monitor has issue.

Looks really nice, especially the higher nits and resolution. As I drag a window between two screens with different resolutions under Ubuntu I find they resize, unlike Windows. Also I must double check my desk space..

Having good tilt and swivel options is also good though. Choices, choices..

Looks fine to me, but higher brightness really matters because the room I have to work in has a lot of daylight for much of the day. I am running a Samsung monitor at the moment. But ended up pulling the trigger on the 27 inch Dell for the higher resolution, and also the increased brightness.

no will never buy samsung monitor again. especially this monitor. they tend to have some ghosting on the lower end and 24 curved. Why you need curve on a 24". Also just go and spend the extra 1k on the cooler master screen as you get higher colour accuracy, ips panel and 144hz refresh rate

I said nothing about longevity. Longevity doesn't mean it's a good monitor. we talking about colour accuracy, pixel response time and the higher refresh rate will give anybody a better experience than a normal 60hz cheap panel can.

Even a samsung entry-mid range tv aren't good value as you can get other brands like tcl that will outperform it and runs google tv as tizen os sucks and samsung are to greedy to have dolby vision support.

Holy smokes, now that is a damn good price for that monitor. My current S2719DGF 165Hz 1440p is still serving me well for almost 4 years now. Have a Dell G2722HS next to it as well. If a similar model with 1440p is ever on special again then I'll replace the G2722HS in a heart beat for 2x 1440p greatness :D
