I missed that. What's a decent TLC, 1TB+ SSD, could be SATA or NVME, doesn't need to be blazing fast, but shouldn't slow down when copying large files either.

No but anything easily visible & removable will result in stolen device + broken window. If you plan to hide it then setting it up each time will be a pain in the ass.

No experience with this unit itself, but I did install a Carplay retrofit box in my e90 (uses the OEM screen/controls, sits between the CIC unit and the screen), and it has been a great experience.

You can get double din units that can replace the original radio, rather go that route else ja, just get a R100 mount for your phone
