No communications from them at all, they should of atleast let me know by know whats happening.

No problems at all,

Your order has been processed, however it has been delayed slightly and we expect your order to be dispatched by the 19th of April

As soon as your order has been dispatched, we will promptly provide tracking information.

I know I am probably not getting the laptop, but they should not keep my hopes up lol

Firstshop is very slow in their logistics/shipping it seems.
Bought a Asus laptop from them end of last year and it took at least a week from purchase to delivery.

Buggers... this after they claimed over the phone that the price was right.
1k for free isn't bad though. Hopefully the 2-3 days to process the refund is legit.

Not the first time this happened with them. Ordered a couple of things from them the past few years and exactly the same response re the stock error a few days after the order and payment. Also after confirming price and stock availability with them before placing the order. Haven't touched them again.

Amazon shows you those, like cavedog said, landed cost is about 3.8k, incl shipping and import duties:

Nope, DHL sorts it all out.

You're paying $50 for customs/shipping. It's really not cheap. How much more do you want to pay?
 
Yes Amazon Global Shipping and Pitney Bowes (Ebay Global Shipping) leave no surprises. Amazon even refunds the balance should SARS take less. Of course this no longer happens as SARS takes everything.
