For games, no, not if you want to use high settings and get 60fps at 4k. For desktop work, yes, it will be fine.

I sit about 2m away from my 46" connected to my PS4, and I think that's a pretty good distance. I can get some motion sickness if I sit closer, depending on the game. Its not 4k, so I'm not sure about text readability, but you will probably want to be a bit closer if you view your desktop at 100% scaling. 1.5m maybe?
At ~1m the text on my 4K 27" is a bit small for comfortable reading for long periods.

I use to use a 28" Samsung 4K monitor with the 1060 and get 60fps fine (depending on game I played which is mostly Fortnite and casual play).

I sit roughly 1m from my monitor so I am worried going with a big screen might give issues at that distance.

I think I might need to keep looking for a monitor first before deciding.

But for those interested I found this article with regards to using the Samsung as a monitor:

Guys I'm looking for 2 x 32" TV's. Type: as cheap as I can get because its for my kids' rooms. I'm tired of having to watch spongebob and pepper pig and whatever kark on my 65" HDR TV with them :D

I'm in CT and I can kick myself for missing that special that Tafelberg Furnishers had on the Panasonic.

Do they have to be brand new? I'd wait until after Christmas when people spoil themselves by upgrading - you may find some lightly used ones on Gumtree that have been put up for sale because they were replaced by bigger models.

Otherwise Game seems to always have nice specials on 32" TV's, another place I have seen them go for cheap is House & Home from time to time.

Check with Esquire for the Hisense/Skyworth TV's. You can also pick up 40"TV's for cheap with them.

Check takealot. Prices weren’t bad he last time I checked.

Also you’re delusional if you think you not going to watch peppa pig on your fancy tv anymore.
