Hardware Bargains

The hint is not really good enough. Going through the product catalog there is 100s of items. It is the same, to say one can find a person, and give the address as: Africa.

Pointless.

Thank you for wasting a few bytes on the internet.
Use your brain or read posts on the parent (hardware) thread, I posted links at least twice (someone else gave me this idea). Google search command:
site:mybroadband.co.za meanwell mantech

I deliberately don't post in this thread, as it is still not a bargain, albeit of being little bit cheaper.

A real bargain you get if you buy the cheapest UPS you can get (it should cost around R400 - comes with the battery) and attach two wires directly to the UPS battery. Majority of 12V routers tolerate voltage between 10.6V and 13.7V, it makes such connection possible. Just remember to add 4A fuse between one of battery terminals and cable.
Happy now? :)

Link to this thread would've been nice. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/679539-12V-DC-DC-converters-with-UPS-function

During backup mode output voltage is not regulated if you do this.

Right. Initially I thought, that 12V output from these converters would be regulated and almost ordered one, but deeper inspection indicate it might not be a case. It is another reason why I didn't post links. Forgive me, please.

I hope you've learnt your lesson for trying to keep a topic on topic on MyBB

Oh, forgotten: there are car chargers for laptops, these devices have regulated output for sure. I saw the older design with a switch for 12V. Bargain if you get one below R200.

Yea, they ain't 100% clear - or I just do not know enough to understand these things. I'm leaning towards the latter though. Then one still need a battery and the needed connectors. I see RS wants R900 odd for their PSC-60 while Mantech charges R300 odd.

A cheap UPS sounds like a better option to me. Or the 12vdc '3.2A' box without battery posted a page or so back - then it is simply plug and play - no need for extra wires or whatnot.

Thanks - got one today.

Only 6 left :D.

Dodgy website that one (Loot). After registration it took me to a "page not found" page. Then after paying it went into a loop and now my basket is empty and I don't know if I have paid or not.....

Any shops you guys recommend me checking out for Samsung Laser toners? Best I found was Takealot @ R650 ea for originals.

That's strange -- should definitely not be doing that, will look into it. PM the email address you used for your profile and I will double check you order and see if I can see what happened

How can it be dodgy if they have a rep on here and users that have purchased from them already

This is AMAZING. Just fits my z2. The 2nd magnet was missing so now I've got a Groupon battle on my hands. To select I have to slide the phone out and tap the screen which sucks. But its spectacular. Just tried the demos. I've taken quite a few 360 photos and there's a viewer for that. There's a virtual cinema where you can select videos and then turn back to the screen and watch. And some other demos.
Novelty will wear off I guess, but it's awesome. A bit uncomfortable. R170 is a lot for cardboard. But worth it.

If you have kids get it!

Also got the Google cardboard minus the metal ring. But you could just use any round metal. Eg a coin. As long as it is able to be magnetised.

Another item I ordered from them has a broken handle and I am quite pissed about that and think I will fight with them over that.

Do you know what happened to Sybaritic? They had a rubbish site and the owner who was well respected for running his business so long in the industry went scammer lol.

Even tried to open another store called techspot.co.za or something.

So the fact that you never had an accident on the way to work today means that no-one had an accident today....your logic is astounding.
All I was saying is that I experienced two issues when trying to purchase on the website. I tried again today and same thing. Gave up on credit card and went EFT option instead.
