Has Digichilli Launched?

hi Dave

I just called the call centre, and the guy took down my email address and cell number. Said he would then forward to accounts, and that they would send the email by today - which upon further querying (about what time to expect it) was extended to tomorrow (time unknown).

He didn't seem to have the list as well

YAY. The guy I spoke to from the call centre (Temba) just called to confirm that I had received my email. I did and didnt notice it.

Response timed at 2 hours and 15 minutes after my call. Excellent - thanks Dave and Temba.

I can confirm the following,if anyone interested

I have 4mbit line with telkom, using R300 a month service from digichilli(slowest one) local downloads max out at full 4mbit,international gives me accurate speed according to package +- 30kbytes a sec.

(although currently some issues with int,due to seacom i believe)

Just got my login details now as well.

Thanks guys. Now for some serious downloading.

My speeds are +- the same but fluctuating wildly.
Too early to tell seeing that there are SEACOM issues.

Will try and reserve judgement on Digichilli until month end.
I'll wait till month end.

Just checked my stats (on my pc). 45Meg downloaded in 1 hour. THAT is bad!!! I thought about 100meg would be in the order of the day.

So before I cancel my other accounts... I will wait.

LOL.. serious downloading at 10kbs :D

Nothing wrong with being a little optimistic. ;)

In any case, speeds not that bad. Torrents are running at +-30K/s
HTTP browsing don't seem too bad either.

So far so good. :)

Just tested my account now......

Browsing international seems a bit slow. International downloads are only maxing out at 10KBps...

Local is fast, and downloads at > 40KBps......

I guess this proves Seacom is the issue.

That is what I can't figure. (Except if they throttle certain protocols).

I bough a nntp account. 1meg connection (limit on their side). I can't get 30kb on my line... no matter what. Suppose to get full speed.

512k line. Torrents are quite erratic though. Ranges from 25Kb - 45Kb and moving all the time. (Must be the Seacom issue) Mostly sitting in the 30Kb/s range.

forgotten to mention that i have a 384 line, but subscribed to the spicy option.
