Have DStv lost the plot?

The channel shows up here but says connection is lost when I view it so I guess thats a bad thing if I used HD.
 
Can I not make this change myself, do I have to get an installer out?

And yet I got a better signal than them using only a tv. Throw out that useless expensive instruments then.


@OP: I don't see them saying anywhere they will disconnect. They wouldn't know in any case. Grasping at straws much?

It means you won't get HD channels if you get an error when you get to that channel. Only matters if you have the HD decoder and are a prem subscriber really.

I have HD and am a premium subscriber. Is this another stuff up by MC where they are not informing all their subscribers?
 
Quantum, I get a "signal not found" error. Is it merely a case of dish realignment / bigger dish or are there are potentially other upgrades required?

I have a Pace 4 tuner running off a medium-sized dish (70cm, I think) with dual LNB. There's an unused big ass dish (90cm) on my roof I've been meaning to switch over to but just haven't got around to it (moved in in December). The big dish is obstructed by a palm tree, so I'll have to move that dish a bit before I connect it up.

Also, I'm not on premium at the moment - I upgrade for a weekend or so from time to time so it'd be great if I could have HD available for those times.

Possibly alignment. I think a well aligned 70cm will still work, for now. I also think you should be able to see the channel on an HD PVR, even if your premium subs is not active. Have you tried to reset your PVR?

I get a million errors saying that EPG info is not available so I must enter my parental control pin.

I see now I get the "Signal not found, ensure your decoder is connected to the dish correctly blah blah"

Trying a reboot.

Works now.

Closest I can get to the real thing? I dunno. My 1080p bluray movies are better than lame 720p or 1080i dstv.
