just found one of the (unique)items i bought on Temu at my local china shop .not recieved yet ,damn its a lot smaller than it looked on the advert ,and its a little bit more expensive ,around R100 .

whichever way it goes ,i hope you dont use the app ,class action lawsuit against them for data mining ,basically everything on your phone now is there`s as well .

They hooked me with my first order, but the second order is my reality check. I will stick to Takealot for my instant gratification.

Holy sht balls, there’s some truly eye-opening statistics in that article.

“an interim report that said Temu and fast fashion retailer Shein send nearly 600,000 packages to the US every day under the de minimis rule, which allows most products valued below $800 (per person, per day) to be brought in without import duties.

They calculated that both companies were responsible for more than 30% of all packages imported to the US under the de minimis provision. It is a luxury many others do not enjoy. In 2022, clothing retailer Gap paid $700 million in US import duties and Swedish retailer H&M paid $205 million because they import goods in bulk in containers rather than individually packaged. ”

How the fk can they make a profit selling at the lowest possible prices and still have a marketing like this!?

“Currently, it is hard to escape the company's constant advertising. They hit this year's Superbowl with another "shop like a billionaire" ad that played numerous times. Last year, they spent $1.7 billion (€1.57 billion) on marketing, JPMorgan Chase said. The US investment bank expects the company to spend $3 billion this year.”

I would definitely second guess when the shipping isn't free anymore unless it's really something I can't get locally even at a slightly higher price or the price is really low

Also had a delayed shipping order but it arrived and was cleared through customs. Will probably get by Monday
 
Anyone order shoes from Temu, watched some reviews on Youtube sayiong they not too bad, not the real thing of course.
Yeezy type and also Croc fakes seem to be "OK"
