just found one of the (unique)items i bought on Temu at my local china shop .not recieved yet ,damn its a lot smaller than it looked on the advert ,and its a little bit more expensive ,around R100 .

judging based on Banggood, probably between $6 and $9
Ok so it’s worth ordering now while they are offering it free, how long has the shipping been free for?

whichever way it goes ,i hope you dont use the app ,class action lawsuit against them for data mining ,basically everything on your phone now is there`s as well .

Yeah the shipping part is pretty meh, like it's still pretty good provided you are happy to wait long but I have the need for that instant gratification
They hooked me with my first order, but the second order is my reality check. I will stick to Takealot for my instant gratification.

Quite interesting...

Holy sht balls, there’s some truly eye-opening statistics in that article.

“an interim report that said Temu and fast fashion retailer Shein send nearly 600,000 packages to the US every day under the de minimis rule, which allows most products valued below $800 (per person, per day) to be brought in without import duties.

They calculated that both companies were responsible for more than 30% of all packages imported to the US under the de minimis provision. It is a luxury many others do not enjoy. In 2022, clothing retailer Gap paid $700 million in US import duties and Swedish retailer H&M paid $205 million because they import goods in bulk in containers rather than individually packaged. ”

How the fk can they make a profit selling at the lowest possible prices and still have a marketing like this!?

“Currently, it is hard to escape the company's constant advertising. They hit this year's Superbowl with another "shop like a billionaire" ad that played numerous times. Last year, they spent $1.7 billion (€1.57 billion) on marketing, JPMorgan Chase said. The US investment bank expects the company to spend $3 billion this year.”

I would definitely second guess when the shipping isn't free anymore unless it's really something I can't get locally even at a slightly higher price or the price is really low

That's still quick enough for me.

First order arrived today. Took around 10 days from order. One item was a bit large but that was my fault for reading like a potatoe. Rest were exactly as ordered
To distract my mind from the delayed 2nd order, I am browsing Temu for a night vision cameras for those suburban tigers and Unisex Portable Urinal, Mobile Toilet For Car Journeys.
