yes, but firstly.
those processors won't cost us a lot, it will cost Nvidia a lot too.
Nvidia is getting greedy now. they just wanna beat ATI at any cost, and it may prove their downfall.
-3billion transistors!? UM, that's a MASSIVE chip! A lot of power will be zapped by it (if we look at ATI's cards, the hd5870 consumes about 190 watts. and the HD5850 consumes 160 watts. the Nvidia will consume close to 230 watts, maybe even 250 watts at peak load!)
Secondly, the 384bit bus, plus DDr 5 will be costly. A 384bit bus is costly with ddr3, and ddr5 is a little more pricey (that's why ATI pared it with the 256bit and 128bit bus, you get good bandwidth, but at a decent price).
that means we might be looking at a situation where the gt300 has sooo much bandwidth that it's more then the core can handle(so the gpu just can't use it all).
Thirdly. 1.5 gigs ddr5 to about 3gigs will be awesome to pitch for gaming, but seriously, maybe in 4 years where game environments can actually use all the memory, it's a bit of a waste

I'm interested in the clock speeds though. with a chip that big, that new, I wonder what Nvidia will clock it at.
remember that 5 ATI shader roughly (ROUGHLY) are the same as 1 Nvidia shader, so the hd5890 has about 320, but with a recent clock. the Nvidia has 512, but with what clock!? If Nvidia clocks there cards to high, then power consumption will be off the charts (we won't see a x2 card), If nividia clock to low, then the hd5870 might give it a run for its money.
Now, remember one thing, ATI has an advantage here, they can price cut, and if these new Nvidia cards do kill on performance (which I think they will), ATI will release a 5890 (maybe more shaders?), and make the market hostile for Nvidia. but this is all assuming that Nvidia does release this in about 2 months (they won't dare miss christmas).

. Nvidia may just have release another 8 series, but will ATI be willing to take it up the arse this time ???
