It's true after all ....... so I've been conned into the HD-PVR+DSD 1110 option. Thanks for pointing it out chaps.
 
I have a question. If I Xtraview an HD PVR and 1110, will the broadcast to the TV from the 1110 be in HD?
 
nope, only the HD-PVR can decode the HD signal (I stand to be corrected though)

So to have two HD outputs I need to purchase two HD PVRs? That's bloody ridiculous. I have two HDTVs in my house and need dual-view in HD. Guess I'm gonna wait til the next decoder.

Seeing as there is only 1 HD channel its pointless anyway, you can get a HD splitter so you can watch HD on 2 TVs but with one channel the costs involved are not really worth it

Just get one of those 3-way aerial plug things (I can't think of the name for some reason) and split it from where it goes into the back of the decoder.
 
You can get an HDMI splitter and it'll be autoswitching and all that...

I'm looking into getting one at home for when my new 42" arrives
 
In theory (excluding cost of decoders) the xtraview function should be far more stable, and offer a greater functionality. It should also allow for more than just two TV's, which with duel view, was the maximum. I guess the crux of it all, comes down to the first two words in my post, "In theory"
 
So what replaces the mnet decoder? A lot of people that can afford multichoice live in houses or complexes (not shacks, and if they have multichoice they should not have welfare either). Some security complexes refuses to allow their owners to install antenna's externally :(

Hi, i saw a promotion on HD PVR for R1999. ... Is it worth a buy? are these issues all resolved now .....
 
I sure hope DSTV introduces a more realistic price for HD viewing. The normal SD full bouquet is terribly expensive.
