Hey guys,
I currently have an Arctis 7 Wireless, but its almost 5 years old and starting to fail. Hoping for some decent recommendations, Ill give a list of what I like and dislike about them and hopefully, I can get some good suggestions
I do various things with them, when programming/working I listen to music a lot, and then also play games, meetings, etc.
Pros:
- Awesome mini inbuilt audio DAC, there were 2 dials, one controls master volume, the other is a dial to go between normal audio (music, games, etc) and chat like discord, teams, zoom, etc. if you scroll up the normal audio gets louder and down for chat to be louder.
- Pretty great audio quality considering they are wireless
- Wireless (almost a must for me unless there's a really good reason for wired) the range on the receiver was also really insane
- Aux pass-through for someone to connect to my headset, not revolutionary just a fun feature
Cons:
- I have a slightly larger head than your typical European (where I bought the headset) so it felt like a Vice grip on my skull for the first months, but I put them on a straightener overnight and they were fine after (metal headband)
- Worst mic ever
- Steel series has horrid customer support
Currently looking at Logitech G PRO X because I quite like Logitech after they replaced my mouse even though there was no warranty, so gives me trust in them, mic is also good, I'm just unsure about the comfort of the headset and the audio quality since everyone always has something to complain about its hard to tell if its good or not.
I know some people will suggest better brands like Sennheiser since they are a dedicated audio brand, Ive used some of their headsets for a short time in the past and they were great, unfortunately they dont come in wireless so its a huge -1 for me since I know im going to walk off with my PC attached to my leash of a headset
