Just parking this here, it has 4 pipes, and is better than any VAG in some areas.

2 years ago we were all asking this, now we know why, the boost is very high, the standard piping is 76mm right through.
So ye, they needed to get the gas out fast?
Aston Martin Vantage?
I just want to make sure before I lol and roll my eyes.
So does the RS3.
But they huge two pipes.
Its about compression ratio and turbo, there a reason for larger diameter pipe.
the tail pieces are just cosmetic. They needed a wider outlet of some kind, they could have gone with large single tail pieces or smaller dual pieces. I like the dual pipes on the Golf R, 2 single ones will spoil the look I think.
The old Seat Ibiza looked terrible with one single oval tail piece in my opinion, as an example obviously.

Well, seeing as my car has 240kw and 450nm with two exhaust pipes, I struggle to believe there is any mechanical reason 4 (gettit) the 4 pipes....
...and it is pretty obvious why the S3 and G7 R need 4 pipes. They look the same as any S-line Audi or Golf gti. The only real way to tell them apart is the ridiculous use of 4 exhaust pipes.

EDIT - and my car actually only uses one exhaust pipe under normal driving....second one opens up with spirited travel!
Nope - tis like stuffing socks down your underwear![]()
