HELP!!! How to setup Harmony 600 Remote for DSTV and TV

Hi Guys

I am getting frustrated as i cannot get my remote to work with the tv and dstv.
I have the LA32D550 Sammy TV wwhich is connected via AV1 to my DSD 820 Dual View I DSTV Decoder.
Please help me how to set it up so i can control the dstv via the Harmony 600 remote. I have registered and went through all the configurations, but i still cannot get the remote to work on the dstv. It seems to only work on the tv.

Hope someone can assist me with a simple easy setup method.
 
When you were setting up the watch tv activity, did you tell the software that you use the DSTV decoder to change channels?
 
remote works well..although for some reason my 'ALL OFF' function doesnt work!
 
Does Makro or Game have the 300i/600/650? I can buy it online, but I wanted to go buy it sometime this afternoon after work.

Tx. HiFi Corp is in the same shopping centre as is Makro. So I'll go have a look. Though I didn't want to touch HiFi Corp with any pole, from crap service I hear about every time.
 
Isn't the Harmony 600 able to "learn" the commands if you hold the dstv remote facing it?
 
Very weird, my 650 had no problem with my decoder. Just chose the right model and all the functions were programmed in. Only problem I have is there isn't any shift or audio/TV keys.
 
So I went to HiFi Corp and they didn't have the 300i. They had the 650 for R1.2k. I mean really? It goes for R500 max?

Got the 300i at Makro for R180. Went home and tried to set it up and didn't have any success.
I entered DSTV, DSD1131, DSD-1131, etc for the model and it didn't work.
I added and deleted the device many times and could get it to work. I think I'm doing something wrong.
I have a a standard decoder 1131.

Look on the packaging of the decoder or at the back for the exact model (Pace or UEC and the model number), don't try looking up on anything else. Remember, DSTV don't manufacture the decoders, they rebrand and rename them to fit into their marketing "strategy" so get the specifics that the manufacturer uses to lookup the device.
 
I got it to work. I had to click on the Syn Now button. Clever me.:p
 
got mine to finally work too. i missed the sync button too. can they not stick it in your face where you can see it easily when doing all the changes. :D

LOL. Yep. I thought when you click on save, it automatically gets saved on your remote.

I need to setup my tv too since it can't recognize it. It looks like I will have to "teach" the remote them commands.
