Hello fellow MyBroadband members,

The recent fires in Knysna have destroyed many lives, and MyBroadband would like to make a contribution to help the people who were affected by these fires.

To show your support, please let us know which cause/charity you think MyBroadband should donate to. If you have no preference, you can just post that you show support for this cause.

Our commitment: MyBroadband will donate a minimum of R10 on behalf of each member who comments in this thread. The more members who show their support, the more we will donate.

Please show your support by commenting by 12:00 on Wednesday 14 June.

This is why we are asking you - we have no insight into which charities are the best, and we would therefore appreciate your input.

I have seen Pick n pay has a good campaign, where the money goes directly to food for the area.

There's Gift of the Givers and I also know that ABSA have setup a bank account where the proceeds will go to victims.

I contacted Dischem but they referred me to their foundation - I don't think they're a charity where one can donate to but I have no doubt that medical supplies are really required.

You could also go the route of purchasing items from Pick n Pay's online store and having it delivered there by them.

Also, it would be worth looking into which animal charities need pet food etc. for misplaced or injured animals. It's relatively cheap and simple in terms of aid and will go a long way.
