So I went to Telkom shop to get their LTE product. Consultant checked coverage said I have and I got it and off I went. At home, plugged it in, set it up and found internet browsing very slow, my husband could not connect his ps3 to it and I found my apps on my phone also took time to open up. Even when we did s speed test it couldn't pick up a server. Phoned Telkom customer care, she asked a few questions and told me the area is covered for LTE but it looks like I only get 4 Mbps and I should be getting much more. She suggested I go back to Telkom shop and get another product. I have a few threads and it says on most of them to rather choose the 2300 mhz. As on the network setting I chose 4G and net work provider Telkom 4G would it be best to choose 2300 MHz and Telkom 4G. Also the APN says internet should I change it to Telkominternet? Please can somebody help.

Where are you at? Telkom is basically useless this entire weekend so far. Was the same last weekend.

East Rand anyway.

Maybe it improves again in the week. Hopefully.

Don't think there's a difference between internet and Telkominternet APN.

And changing the thing from Telkom 4G to 2300 MHz?

Try changing the apn to unrestricted.

The change between 4G Only 1800MHz and 4G Only 2300MHz and see how the speeds are. Do a speed test on both to determine which one is the fast and slow one then ypu can stick the fast frequency.

The APN doesn't have a drop down menu, you need to type in what's needed, so can I type in unrestricted?

So did what you suggested, put unrestricted both places and chose 2300 MHz 4G, did a speed test. Ping is 33 download 20.27 and upload 0.71, not sure if that OK. Hubby must still check if PlayStation can now connect. I see it still hops from server to server. Was first cell c and now clear access both in Pretoria

The speedtest server should not matter.

Try using http://speedtest.mybroadband.co.za/ for more consistant speedtest between the 2 frequencies.

http://192.168.8.1/html/deviceinformation.html login on this link with the username and password on the router and post RSRP and SINR signal stats so we can advise on whether the signal is good or bad. RSRP -95dB and lower is good. SINR anything above 10dB is good. lower or negative will start to affect the speeds.

Your upload speed is low which means your signal on 2300MHz is probably bad.
