Hi Guys

I'm getting a belkin n900 router during the weekend, what I want
To do is to setup a home network , I don't have a Internet connection
I just want all my devices to communicate with each other, the devices I have is
A iPhone 4S, a galaxy S3 , a laptop with wifi running XP and a Ethernet cable,
And a ps3

Thank you in advance

Read the manual :D That is how I started. The manual will help you to seamlessly set up a SSID and password on the router. Once that is done, you can open the wifi settings on your devices, let it scan for networks and when it sees your network, select it and enter the password and you should be connected. That is the easy bit. I would suggest you create a share folder on your laptop which will be accessible by all devices (for movies/photos/data/music etc) or use the existing default folders and share them. This will allow you to stream to the PS3 and S3. There are various streaming software for Windows that will help you to stream to the PS3 (I am a fan of PS3 Media Server). I don't know how to share info from the phones (never bothered to look for ways), but perhaps visit the app stores and see what apps will allow this. I'm sure the Play Store will a have such apps, but I am not sure about the iProblem. I think the iPhone will probably have to go through iTunes, but like I said, I never needed this so I might well be wrong.

Now for the clever guys to pitch in.....

Thank you! Sir will see how it goes over the weekend and let you.

I believe he was referring to himself in the 3rd person.. as sir.

You read it the way you want to and I will do the same...

Edit: He clearly put the "!" in the wrong place ... it should read

Thank you Sir! Will see how it goes over the weekend and let you know.

What I want to know is where the hell does he currently plug in the Ethernet cable!

Just a quick question, when do you use the network setup wizard on the laptop?
Does it create a network on the router or the laptop?

The network is created on the router.
I don't know your router, but connect the router with an ethernet cable to pc or laptop. Then on the pc, go to start, run, type in cmd and press enter. Then type ipconfig
It should give you the IP of the router. Something like 192.168.1.1
Enter that address into a web browser and you should see the setup interface.

Just a note. I had a issue with my belkin n routerand my S2. The router would change the channel it uses dynamically but the router support more channel than my phone did, my phone did not have 12 and 13 if I remember correctly.

I had to set my router to use 1 channel only.

Then help me out please. How do I set up the my PS3 and laptop over wifi so I can stream movies to the PS3 from the laptop?
Ad-hoc mode.

But why would you want to watch movies on your laptop when the PS3 is connected to the TV?

Thank you very much for your input I have opted to instead buy the belkin n300 lol budget constraint, did'nt know that the n900 was that expensive, I can now wirelessly connect both the iPhone and the laptop to the router, and can access my itunes library over wifi, next I will try to connect the ps4 and let you know
