I'm unfortunately not up to speed on amd prices. Best bet would be to check prices on carb, scamtree & BoB for the same items to see what they go for. I'm probably way off here but won't pay more than R2.5k for the MB, CPU & RAM at a push.

Hopefully someone else can comment on the pricing.

I want to sell all of it I think now of just getting another similar specced laptop as my main quarrel with these monster desktops is that they guzzle power and it's just wires frickin everywhere.

3 Screens = 6 wires

Mouse + Keyboard = 2 wires

Power supply = 1 wire

Logitec C920 = 1 wire

Lan cable = 1 wire

Sound bar = 4 wires (hdmi 2x power)

Too much.

A laptop would mean

1 Power

2 for the screen

2 for the soundbar (bluetooth)

and of course physically less space so smaller desk

Just FYI if you were permanently banned from Carbonite the last time this new registration will be see as a duplicate account and you will be banned again.

Don't know if the week ban ever escalated.
 
I cannot wait for wireless power or a breakthrough in batteries like 2 year charges

That is my banned account it was a temporary ban.

Just don't like the nanny state over there so I am now there purely to pick up a special and gtfo

Also that was a 6 year old laptop, if you really want to upgrade now do it properly, you can go mini ATX or even ITX if you want a smaller form factor.

I crunched the numbers today on wootware.

No matter what why I go, mini atx or normal it's 18K minimum either way.


Fck on earth alone knows wtf happened to our currency and pc prices.

One would think computer prices would be rock bottom yet they increase each year almost artificially... One might say.

I do have a 256Gb Le series corsair in this particular machine and a bunch of odd drives 1 - 2Tb drives


So I want to consolidate

1 x 500Gb Samsung Evo
1 x 4TB 7200rpm drive

I'm on my phone so I'm not checking prices but I'm think the build will be closer to 10-12k and you can sell your old stuff so it's not too bad.

Will properly check later in the day.

Still a bit of monety - I would love to rather just do a trade + some moola

Unless I can sell my entire setup once.
