Maybe I should make the best of the situation and embrace these mammoth components I have and simply upgrade my case which will give me more space inside so it's a compromise.

I don't have a standard case I have a bulk as fck fugly thing.
My motherboard is too God damn big it sucks.
I'm looking at Carbonite now going rates etc.
I either want to sell or maybe swop it for Intel.
Because even if I get the small graphics the mobo is where restrictions lie in terms of scale down ability.

Only way to do that would be an external radiator which is not going to be small. Cases rely on holes for air to come in and go out...restrict that and cooling suffers.

Makes perfect sense. Liquid cooling seems to be the answer again.

Why is your case warm? It shouldn't be really.
If you have a top-mounted fan, move it to a rear mount (I assume your cats want to sit on top of the warm air). Also make sure the airflow into the case at least matches the airflow out (i prefer it higher since positive pressure means dust wouldn't migrate in as much). If the case's surfaces stay cool and the warm air is coming out the back of the case, your cats should stop sitting on the case.

I know, right? I've only been catching up now...swings and roundabouts in here. Has a really nice case to build in and he's faffing about with NUC things when he claims he wants performance.

All I do is use PHPstorm and Adobe
Also chrome with a gazillion tabs
So I just need to find a good small solution lots of ram (chrome) an Intel cpu and entry level card.
Problem is wtf do I do with my current setup.

Aah, ok - the first few pages have ruminations on 1080's and Quadro cards...those are performance components.
Can't really advise re the value of second-hand stuff...I tend to give stuff away and buy new. For example, if you wanted to downscale and a new 450W PSU made sense for your build, I could send you one if you pay for shipping.
