Hi all
I added my wife's's account to my phone (P30 pro). It sync'd her contacts to it, and then added those contact's birthdays to my calendar.
I then deleted the account, and all those contact's were deleted.
However, the birthdays are STILL on the calendar, and I can't delete them. If I long press one of them it says "Unable to move all day event".
It is driving me insane cos I really don't care about all those people's birthdays!
Any ideas on how I can delete them without resetting the phone?

Have you tried to go to settings --> Apps find the calendar app and and do a clear cache / clear data. It should reset it to its original state and the it should sync again only to yours account calendar. Unless somehow it has synced the birthdays to your account. If it has not then clearing the data should restore it to its original state.

Just tap on the event and select delete at the bottom when it opens?

Tried this, it doesn't delete these entries for some reason.

Didn't work either. They have no options. If you long press on it, screenshot below is what happens.

Press the Hamburger Menu > Manage accounts > Turn off Contacts birthdays.

Yeah, thought of that. Problem is then it also takes off the birthdays from MY contacts, which I actually want! (I know, I'm hard to please:P)

Did it sync to your google calendar or on the calendar app of the phone only? Use a different calendar?

As far as I can tell, only to the phone. If I visit Google Calendar online the entries are not there.

Does the google calendar app on the phone show them?

Funny enough, yes, it does! I didn't notice it because I don't use the Google calendar app.
Opening the item in Google Calendar doesn't give the option to delete though.

Go check on your pc browser again? do they still not show up there?
You have an option that says email organizer. this makes me think that this may be seen as a meeting request from a contact. Automatically adding meeting requests to calendar can be turned off on Google if that is the case...

I created a test contact with a bday... Mine did sync to google calendar, once that happens, deleting the contact wont help because the calendar entry is created already... I simply deleted it out of Google calendar on PC and it went away.

Adding your wife's google account was probably not the right way to go about it. It would have been better if you created a separate user account for her on the phone. This would keep contacts (& data) separately.

It's still not on the web version of Google calendar. Only on the phone app! Very strange.

I sort of fixed it. I went to settings, apps, calendar. Denied permissions for everything - contacts, location, calendar, storage.
Then opened the app. Had to give it permission again for calendar ONLY.
Coild then delete what I wanted, then gave permissions for all the other stuff again.

Thank you all for your help, it helped me get to this point.
