Help with Chip pls.

Oh true. Good point. What mobo? Is micro-atx worth considering?
 
Micro Atx form factor is fine, most HTPC's use them so it doesn't in itself indicate a bad board, but on the other hand very cheap motherboards are usually micro-atx form factor to save money.
 
hey guys. thanks for all the help and interest. I placed an ad in the personals and someone replied to me.

A celeron 2.4Ghz with 512mb RAm 9200 Graphics Card for R3k.... lawl like i would eva pay that. i could get a NEW pc that would break that in half for 3k.

also i was reading in the forums about graphics cards and im only going to be buying in about 1 month (maybe even 2 ) and hopefully the cheaper "equivalents" to the 8800 will start to come out.

You know we can actually make money using this forum :p

If everyone advises a new member to buy a certain item for x amount that just so happens to be on sale by one of the members, all the members could potentially sell all their old hardware for "great" prices :cool:

I paid R700 for it a few months ago so I thought I'd try make a 450% profit!

But that is a good point. If we banded together we could control the second hand market place! Practically everyone who wants to buy something here comes for advice, so we could just recommend a particular something in the classifieds or at Prophecy Forums... It's probably illegal at some level and for it to work properly they'd have to open another sub-forum that is restricted for only those part of the whole thing...

On another note, I'm also looking to buy a mobo for my new PC and would like something with P35 but it seems most of those mobos are a bit expensive... So what about G31? There's a micro-atx asus board with G31 chipset at PCint. Apart from only 2 ddr slots, are there any disadvantages to micro-atx?

You sound very uncertain as to what you really want... Just remember you can't get a gaming rig for 3k. My system cost me over 20k, so for 3k if you get an entry level gaming system you should go for it :)
 
hey thanks for all the input guys. you see the thing is im not rich and i have these things called "priorities". anyway thanks for all the input im going to try buy online but im not too sure. all i play is warcraft 3, css and cod4 and as long i can play all those decent and i can watch movies im a happy camper.
