Hep B vaccine

Ja ... fck me that night I was high fever, vomiting etc. It really was not pleasent ... and I was very young and I remember that.

Anyway, ja the one lady here also took all her kids to the government clinics. She says it is so cheap there and they normally very friendly at the one she goes to. But I will just buy my doses at dischem and then paramedic friend can inject me. I did consider doing it myself, but just cant imagine sticking a needle into myself. (I would be a horrible drug user lol). Well make a day of it, come for a braai and vaccination pool party lol

it depends more on you not really the Vaccine - at least your immune systems reaction to the vaccine

Yes, that makes sense. Your immune system sees a threat (inactive virus) and attacks. Mine went to war I would say lol. Hope same does not happen with Hep B one. But if it does then its OK. Will take it as it comes.

Not that I know of. Not to meds anyway. Mom is allergic to a certain class of anti biotic. Landed her in the ER. But I dont have any that I am aware of. Can you have a bad allergic reaction to it? Maybe best my friend does it then. Sure he will have his kit with him if my throat closes up or something bad happens. :eek:

Woah there nelly - calm down.
just normally people with Allergies immune system over reacts to things so was wondering.
Also most vaccines they normally put something extra in there to irritate you (like Aluminium) so you immune systems sends its little workers to find out whats what.
If you have time there are a few you tube channels that have some nice easy to understand explanations on how vaccines work - think it was called Crash course and the other one was In a nut shell

Cool beans. I tend to get bad allergies from dustiness and pollen in the air sometimes where I want to scratch my eyes out and I get itchy. Like that kind of allergy then I guess? But other than that, nope. No food allergies or that kind of thing.

Will have a look. It is very interesting these kinds of things.
 
I think what somebody was getting at was why all the precaution, not saying that it is a bad thing, but it is like you don't need to wear a rain coat if you don't intend to go running int he rain.

are you in a commited relationship or (and don't take this offensively) are you generally promiscuous?

Dude i tick all those boxes in lifestyle so little chance of HIV infection but if there ever is a HIV vaccine id take it.

Its like the same as driving - you can be the best and safest driver in the world - you still where a seat belt cause you never know how *** the other people on the road drive.

On topic, I've had Hep A and B vaccines.

You need to have a STD screening first before they give it to you otherwise it could have a bad effect on you if you already have one of the two.

No I am not in a relationship, and I have not been very sexual for a rather long time. That has been fixed and I definately will be playing around. Will I be fcking anything hairy on two legs and a pulse? No, but I aint going to be a angel either.

If the protection is there, why not use it?

I dont see why there is a issue with me talking about STD's. It is a important issue, and I think the more people talk about it, the less it is a taboo and shameful, the more open people will be and get treatment for a bug they might have picked up or inform others that they have been with to go get tested.

Thank you for the heads up about the STD screen and possible reactions. Friend did not say anything about that. Will go for a screen before hand then. Do HIV while I am at it also. I am overdue (even though I have not been very active, just get it done too)

Ok, so I asked him about the getting tested for Hep A and Hep B first, and he said a STD panel is a good idea anyway, but Hep A he says most South Africans will show immunity. Called geelsig in Afrikaans and most kids have had it. Hep B he says I would know if I have had it or have it. It is not a silent thing. If you have it, you will know about it. But I will do the STD screen anyway. Always a good thing to get screened now and then I guess.

I don't think it's an issue you discussing it as you're correct, it needs to be talked about more.
