We can confirm that the Zwelihle is quiet and no further action has been taken. We will keep an eye out and provide an update early tomorrow on the status on the ground.
For now please note that everyone is operating as per normal, staff is going to work and there is no disruption expected tomorrow. If the situation change, we will update you.

We can confirm that the leader of the Land Party, Mr. Gcobani Ndzongana, has fled Zwelihle after an alleged attack. He is seeking police protection.
Earlier in the evening, he accused his attackers of working under the instruction of the Police.
"Just being attacked by taxi owners and drivers in my house," he commented on his Facebook page. Concluding with the accusation: "They claim they got the instruction from the police head. Revolution is not bed of roses. Victory is certain."
From our understanding, other members of the Land Party and Zwelihle Renewal was also attacked but the status of those are not clear. We will update you as this unfolds.
Earlier in the day, a declaration was made by members of the Zwelihle Taxi Association and community members to disband the Zwelihle Renewal Group and a new body will be created to work with the community. This after numerous threats of violence, power failures and disruption of people going to work.
We will provide you with any media releases or comments from the municipality, the Taxi Association or any other person of interest. This is a developing story and may change, we will update it as the night unfolds.

BREAKING NEWS: We are aware of shots fired in Zwelihle, the situation around the matter is being investigated. Police are in the area. Please stay inside if you are in the affected area.
There is a group of people at the Hermanus Police Station. From what we understand the leader of the Land Party was attacked and he is now seeking refuge at the police station. There is a group of about 50 people outside the station. Information is still coming in but please take note if you drive past the Police Station to not be alarmed.
All other parts of the town are calm and there is no unrest anywhere. We do ask that people allow the police to do their work and refrain from engaging in any platforms in a matter that incites violence.

You may have heard some rubber bullets being fired, please note the situation is under control and it is a crowd that was broken up trying to interfere with a meeting of the community. There is a heavy police presence and all streets are open and workers and colleagues are expected to return to work tomorrow.
Due to the sensitivity of some information, we will not share everything tonight as to the reason for the meetings. We will provide a full report tomorrow.
Please keep an eye on updates from Hermanus CPF and delete any update that is older than an hour.
Please note there are many rumors spread about certain leaders being attacked under the instruction of authorities, please delete these messages and do not engage on them.
