Anybody using Afrihost's Hosting?

WebAfrica not supporting backup software for WordPress so moving to either Hetzner or Afrihost? Not too sure about Afrihost as they couldn't give me a definite reply on Backupbuddy.

Backupbuddy shouldn't be an issue, do you know if the plugin has any specific requirements?

Backupbuddy requires the following features:
1) PHP's exec() function.
2) Permission to run Linux's `zip` command.
3) The directory containing the `zip` command is included in the PATH environment variable
available to the process executing the command passed to the exec() function

both work pretty well, i've also used backupbuddy on both too. With bigger sites backupbuddy hanged sometimes when extracting so i manually unzipped the file (using their file manager)

Also look at "Duplicator" plugin, works similar to backupbuddy for moving sites

I doubt this will be an issue on our shared environments.
What I'd suggest - take out a package that suites you and pull over your content without updating the DNS. Try it out for a while, if it works then you can update the NS - if it doesn't you can cancel and we'll give you your money back :) Deal?

I've got clients with Wordpress hosted on both Afrihost and Hetzner. Haven't tested zip on Afrihost, but it works on Hetzner.

Double money! As your site says ;)

As Afriman mentioned, Backupbuddy is a good idea. We've got experience using it on both Hetzner and Afrihost with a hitch. You could also look into using infinitewp or managewp...

Hope it helps

Thanks for all the replies guys, will get started on testing as I have over 50 sites to move. Looking forward to help changing all my clients mail settings!!
