High end pc vs ps3 vs xbox

*nod* ..... my nephew has a PS3 and i find the quality of games are a joke for the price paid... seriously 900 bucks for a game you end up playing for a 2 weeks.

He is a shiite player if he takes that long. Jeeze?

Tell your nephew he's getting seriously ripped off...

moba's and fps are the cream of the crop when it comes to competitive gaming...that's PC, not TV games.

ever heard of the World Cyber Games Tournmaments? thats where people play games as a sport, and guess what....it's on PC. they don't play mario cart or wii sports or eyetoy, they play COMPETITIVE Games.

Even though you can also play COMPETITIVELY on consoles, surely that must = instant win for PC's. Well done sir...

Calling it a sport is helluva funny.

Btw, the 2008 WCG included Xbox games, pretty sure more consoles will appear in future tournaments.

well I just don't see consoles on the gaming scenes really - if you go to Rage you will see thousands of PC gamers dueling it out in FPS or MOBA's, but i've never seen an xbox lan with a couple of guys playing halo or something, or a wii competition, or even a PS3 tournament with whatever it is that those guys play...

Rage takes place every year with 1500 gamers, and there are hundreds of "almost as big" lans (some have 500 gamers) running EVERY SINGLE MONTH

please show me an event with 100 PS3 gamers playing at the same time at the same event.

Dude I'm talking about Competitive, Multiplayer Clan VS Clan "5v5" Moba/CSS Games where you need to think fast and have good teamwork otherwise you get pwned, and here you come and mention guitar hero, the game where you are supposedly a rock star by mashing buttons when the color comes to the bottom line of the screen...

Thanx RoosTa, that just made my day man :D

Did anyone ever notice how gaming consoles are quickly evolving by trying to add features that PCs have had for many years now?
Consoles are made from PC's. They are specialized PC's mainly aimed at gaming.

Consoles have the internet for that but not for tournaments. LANs are created to eliminate the lag issue. The reasons why console LANs have not been around is because console networking has only been introduced to current consoles which PC's had for a long time. We will see console LAN competitions begin to grow as time passes. Also the console has always been deemed as a home gaming system which will also change in future. If you think about it, to form a console LAN, most need to bring either a TV/Monitor and their console.

The beauty of PC's is the fact that even when they become old and toothless, you can always find another use for them. Like a cheap media server, HTPC or even a firewall, for example... used for less demanding tasks.

Consoles aren't that versatile...
Don't mean to bash, but that's basically the practical reason to get a pc rather....
