High Latency - Afrihost or Telkom

Hi Guys

I'm getting high latency on my Afrihost account. Can anyone confirm? Want to establish if it is Afrihost or our local Telkom exchange.

google.co.za 1600ms
myadsl.co.za 1300ms

Can anyone confirm?

MickeyD yours looks ok, must be a Telkom issue in our area, im getting same results as lroachl. Over 1000ms to myadsl.co.za
 
Try sites other than MyBB as I'm also getting higher than average latency to the site.

Same issue here in Plett.

latency is over 1000ms on 3 accounts since around 8am this morning.

Yip so I thought, could I ask all people affected by this problem to log a fault with Telkom, it seems to be affecting the plett knysna region. The more the merrier. Hopefully this gets resolved ASAP. Exchange problem ?
 
High latencies normally indicate congestion somewhere along the line.

Please post tracert results for various sites.
 
This problem still continues....high latency all round...sigh :twisted:
 
I'm in Camps Bay and have been struggling with the high latency as well... very disappointing
 
We were alerted to issues on the Telkom exchange resulting in high latencies and slow speeds in certain areas of Cape Town. We are addressing the matter with Telkom, and will give you guys some feedback as soon as possible.

Please keep posting your feedback so we can track the issue.
