Higher ADSL upload speeds free

Surely they couldn't seriously have considered charging extra for it.

Will this remain exclusively for the 4Mbps subscribers, or will they also give a boost to the lower speed packages as well?

Yeah whom was part of this trial? I've not heard about it and have been an adsl subscriber since the first week of it being implemented in SA. I DESERVED it for all the blood, sweat and tears I've endured over the years to pay Telkom their exorbitant charges!!! Hope we all get it soonest though, however the biggest issue is still bandwidth speeds to international servers. You can have high theoretical upload speeds but if it's capped in the day to a US server (FTP port shaping? / contention ratios / little avail. bandwidth), it really doesn't bleedin' help but to further wipe your nose in the arse of Telkom's infrastructure! Suppose any little bit of improvement is positive!

I don't do much uploading so I don't really care.

However, i always wanna be apart of something, so why don't they include me... is it because I'm white?!?! hahahahahahah! Couldn't help myself!

prediction: by the end of March Telkom 'doubles up' all their packages: 4mb to 8mb, 1024 to 2056, etc, etc - you know, to remain 'competitive'.

the catch is that the 3gb cap remains at 3gb.

Yeah who's in the trials? Rebooted my modem and still synching at 4096/384. I'm in Helderkruin/Wilro Park, West Rand, connected to rrba-ip-esr-3

herm that sucks :/

Ha! Good first MyADSL post.

IC, I don't see why you would seriously doubt a speed increase. They have done it before and it makes more sense for them if the alternative is a higher price cut. We'll see in August I guess.

Sorry to go off topic a bit and please excuse my noobness, but what does a telkom exchange actually look like?

Why do the 4MB ppl always get upgraded? Why dont the slower dudes, like the 512, and 384 peepz get upgraded! Thats so unfair!
