Hisense Q8600 Thread

Does anyone know if a 75" model will be released here? I have the 55M7000 but want to upgrade to the 75" for my XboxX and the imminent release of the new XboxSX later this year. I hardly ever watch TV except for the occasional rugby or cricket match.

  • WiFi seems to be 2.4GHz only. Shouldn't be a problem for most people, as 4K streaming would need, at most, 25Mbps which 2.4GHz is perfectly capable of providing. For me it is a bit of an irritation since my

For those interested, pressing the blue button on the remote will display current streaming info in the Netflix app. EDIT: It seems after the latest OTA update (J11xx) this blue button no longer displays streaming info.:cautious:

I also found it strange that it doesn't detect 5GHz Wifi. It should actually, since all the spec sheets show that it supports Wifi-AC. Maybe @Hisense SA can clarify.

I found that the "Info" button shows the technical details when watching on the Netflix app. Turned out I was streaming The Witcher in 4K Dolby Vision :X3::oops:. I think that burnt through about 20GB of LTE data on the last 4 episodes of the season. But it was quite a treat.

@Hisense SA, it would be nice if we can cap the video quality of the Netflix App so we don't end up defaulting to 4K HDR when using LTE :ROFL:. 1080p looks damn good already.

You should definitely be able to get 5GHz Wifi.
I currently have mine connected to it.

Thanks for confirming.

2.4 GHz is inherently better for longer range, which is probably the situation for myself and the OP.

Well, I have a 5GHz AP in a congested complex, so every now and then my 2.4GHz devices drop off because someone's router hopped on to the same channel. So I try to keep most devices on 5 if possible more for stability.

Interesting, Maybe I should try adding my 5GHz SSID to the TV manually to get it to connect.

Same here I'm also on J1114. It says I have the lastest version. Guys on another thread have already updated to J1127 and now too sure how?

Picked up the 65" on tuesday. So far so good.

Wish there was a way to switch all the image processing extra's off with one switch in the settings menu.

Link is dead, does anyone still have it?

On my second 65" Q8600. I do have slight vignetting in corners. Cant say I like it maybe it's the OCD, not sure if this is the norm.

Do not have notification pop ups even when watching Dolby Vision content off Netflix.

The DSE is big problem for me. First unit was really bad this one better but still there. Example watching letter boxed movie I can see the light bloom/bleed contrasted against picture and black letter boxed section. Have had it a week now and thought it might go away but is very distracting. Again not sure what is acceptable. Would be interested to see other peoples pictures please.

Nit picking here, but menu system cumbersome and slow to react. Also remote needs proper line of sight to work properly.

Do you have a picture of the DSE on your set? I expected some but am also not sure if what I am seeing is a lot or not.

True. No idea if it will affect something. Never mind though. It seems like there some issue cause it's gonna take a week to download

is this for a 55 or 65?
whats the improvements over 1114?

Works on both

Strangely on my 65" it wiped all my settings back to default. Didn't do it on my brothers 55".

Only real differences I can tell so far between 1127 and the older 1114 is that Showmax no longer crashes for no reason on the new firmware. Also the Dolby Vision logo now pops up all the time where it didn't always before.
