Hisense Q8600 Thread

Are we really stuck with this horrible motion during sports? especially football. I watched a match at my mother inlaws place the weekend who has the entry level 43" full HD Hisense TV and even on there the football looked much smoother than on the Q8600. putting motion on just makes the ball look like a blur whenever its being kicked abd having motion off just has horrible judder

Works on both

Strangely on my 65" it wiped all my settings back to default. Didn't do it on my brothers 55".

Only real differences I can tell so far between 1127 and the older 1114 is that Showmax no longer crashes for no reason on the new firmware. Also the Dolby Vision logo now pops up all the time where it didn't always before.
Hmmm. I've updated to J1127 but I rarely see the logo pop up. Generally only does when viewing off my external hard drive.

Does the logo pop up for you when viewing Netflix DV content?

Morning, on another tack, I have a Q8600, 65". I recently added a JBL 2.0 soundbar (awesome). Have noticed that the lipsync is marginally out, and every now and again the sound goes off for a split second twice in a row. Any thoughts?

There is an audio delay setting in the menu that, weirdly was at 3 by default on my set. Check it out

My spdif port is loose and doesn't hold the cable. Going to need to book it in for a service

Is it connected via a cable? If so fiddle with the lipsync settings.

Sounds like this model is quite problematic. Luckily I found this thread before I "added to cart".

I'm wondering if the signal being sent from the TV cannot be interpretted by the Z5500, remember the Z5500 is 15 year old tech.

Where did u get J1127 from? OTA says J1114 is latest

Got my 55Q8600 and I'm beyond impressed.

Having previously tested the 55B8000, there really is a nice difference.

The viewing angle on the Q8600 is much, much better than the B8000. I would get a lot of washout when viewed from the side of the B8000 TV, but with the Q8600, its day and night difference. Very pleased with that.

Also, the 1000 nits on the TV is superb... I thought the B8000 was bright with colour at 700 nits, but this just tops the scales... especially when local dimming is set to "High", the images really pop. The Quantum dot technology is excellent. There is a bit of the infamous "dirty screen" on this TV compared to the B8000, as expected, with the Full Array LED Back-lighting, and more noticeable when local dimming is set to "high" on uniform grey coloured screens... but it doesn't bother me, as it cannot be seen when watching content... I was just hunting for flaws.

I am on the J1114 firmware version, and the system doesn't detect newer at this point. The Dolby vision logos etc don't appear on the screen when watching the relevant content, but its obviously firmware related.

Other than that, overall, an excellent purchase.

PokerMon received a file from Hisense support which he kindly shared with us. I did post a link to it on the first page of this thread, but I think it has expired now. Contact Hisense support if you would like to try it out.

I have, and they insist the latest firmware is J1114 for the Q8600, and that the J1127 is strictly for the B8000 variant.

I've spoken to various consultants both in Joburg and Cape Town and they say the same.

Will just wait for an OTA if one is sent.

Interesting...so we may have loaded the B8000 firmware onto our Q8600's? Strange that it allowed it.

I did the same, loaded the J1127 firmware on my Q8600. I saw a few posts that mentioned that the person who initially loaded the link for J1127 on myBB mentioned Hisense provided him with this firmware for his Q8600
