Hi guys

Just got my Blood test results and I'm HIV negative. This was the longest few days of my life. On top of that I also just got notified that I got a promotion to Revenue Assurance/Fraud where I work.

This is turning out to be the best week of my life now :)

On a serious note.

Guys pls get tested, just to be save. Even if you are thinking you might have it but is scared of getting tested, I've been thru it. It's better to know for sure. I can now clearly say that I am HIV negative and will not need another test for a while as I have been in no risk for the last year.

Pls guys, do this for the people you love and the ones close to you. Get tested and be sure. Do not put innocent people at risk ;)

Did you have any particular reason to be scared?

So glad to hear you did that.

Before I met my wife, I also did a test - and it's negative.

Better to know what your status is than putting innocent people at risk.

@ Pitbull - I'm sorry to hear that, but am glad that you still love him as your brother. May I ask what happened?

We are 3 sons. Myself (oldest) the middle one and the youngest (Electrician).

The middle one is gay. We have no idea how he got it, and he's not very open about it. But about 2 weeks ago my dad took him to the doctor cos he got very thin and had diarea for about 2 weeks. The tests was done and he's HIV+. As pervious forum members said he must have had sex but he says he never did. Really sad tbh :(

I would also just like to thank each and everyone for your support during the last week. I can name you guys by name but I'd rather not... Might just look like I favour some people above others if I do single out anyone.

The PM's and the posts in my other thread realy carried me thru. I do appreciate it very very much. And if there is anything you guys need from me, pls don't hesitate to ask. I'll bend over 3 fold for you guys.

<3 you all

Did it two weeks ago and it just gives you a peace of mind.

I've had 2 friends dying of AIDS and know a whole lot living with it.

Congratulations Pitbull. I prayed for you.

On the note of being tested. I've been tested last year and this year aswell, so I am OK for now. Will probably try and do it once a year at least.

I successfully resisted the urge to make a gay joke. Congrats on everything.

hehe, shoot away.

You guys have no idea how this has changed me. This has changed me right from the core outwards. I think currently Lacelot will be the second most possitive person on MyADSL. Seriously, nothing can phase me now :)

Well done man for being brave! My last test was October 2007! I'm going through another one next month for the Life Insurance Cover!

Sorry about your brother! I'm positive that with the support of the family, he will have a healthy mind which can only improve him physically!

Congrats/sympathy from here too man.

Stupid question, but if he 'got it' from various 'activities', why should you be worried yourself?

I know for a fact, that in the last year or so I haven't been exposed to any risks. No bar fights and so forth. Going forward I will be extra carefull and never have to panic when I need another test done. Being HIV+ have been playing on the back of my head for a couple of years now, because of my life style I had before I met my wife. I was always to scared to get tested.

I had one a few years ago, think about 5 and was also negative. But I will going forward have this test done atleast once a year and keep my side as save as possible. This is the most torturing thing a human being can go thru with out pain.

It's mentaly exhausting.

a Couple of years back. He had some bitch fit in my mothers house. Throwing things around and so forth. As an Impulse i hit him, took out 2 of his teeth and there was blood everywhere. I could never forgive myself for what I have done. With all this happening I was thinking that this will now be my punishment for doing that to my brother. Appart from that, he also does needle work at home with clothes and things.

You know, always there is something that happens. Splinters and so forth that needs to be removed and and and. That also freaked me out.

Well Im not gonna say congrats if you were unsure about your status, assuming youre an adult. But I will say good on ya for getting tested and not remaining unsure. Glad to hear you are negative.

HIV is a reality in our country and people tend to think it only affect poor/ignorant people.

It always gives me joy and brings peace of mind to me as I see those who has courage to get tested before they infect others with/without knowledge.

How can MyADSL encourage it's members to be tested?
