HIV NEGATIVE !!!!!

HIV is a reality in our country and people tend to think it only affect poor/ignorant people.

It always gives me joy and brings peace of mind to me as I see those who has courage to get tested before they infect others with/without knowledge.

How can MyADSL encourage it's members to be tested?

Maybe we can do a little bit of an initiative by giving something away or giving people a bit of branded gear or something like that

How about we get a counselling/support group to advertise on MyBroadband and in return they will assist and those who want to test for HIV with conselling prior to the test being done?

No online test neh!!

Did you have your whole family tested? I seem to remember in the other thread you being worried about them too.

Kudos to the otherwise hated hordie !

Glad you're all right mate! Mine turned negative after my life insurance tests as well. I'm _REALLY_ careful with it since I suffer from uber-sensitive nosebleeds. Not too keen to get the family infected when I spring a leak.

For me to get the test was a personal choice. I would like to get the kids tested also. As for my wife, I think it's a given that she's negative also. But atleast her wait on her test would not be so aginizing :D

I'll speak to the wife tonight as I think they all need to get tested.

Do married folks over here get tested/submit to testing too? Just a thought. I've been faithful and didn't get involved in any risky/dangerous stuff (except drinking) but it would be interesting to see.

The thing is this. There is 2 people in this. You are 100% faithfull and never do anything wrong, can you for 1 second think your other 1/2 is 100% faithfull ?

That is the problem

I'm happily married.

My wife and I go once a year for an HIV test, and we do it out of love.

An even better way to get regular tests is to donate blood. I do it every 3 months not only do i get tested but i also help with the blood shortage crises. I urge you all to donate. It's really not that bad. And some jobs will even give you an hour or two off from your job.

We got tested when we got married aswell. Made sense as I had various forms of fun with some lonely girls a few years earlier.

Apart from the Infidelity one can get infected in other ways - as you have already alluded on your previous comments

Without doubt, I know my better half is 100% faithful. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of her "straying" (spelling Nazis:leave that one alone).

I find it cool that (even married) couples make the choice and submit to testing.

No no no no no!

Do NOT give blood to get tested! Do NOT give blood if you think you could be positive!

I do encourage people to donate blood, it's a life saving thing, but there is no way you should be doing it to get tested or if you think you could be positive. There is a window period, and you could be infecting other people during that window period.

Great news there Pitbull :)

I also donate blood regularly so I get tested every two months and know I'm negative. I don't do it to get tested though and I won't donate if I think there could be even the slightest chance that I could have gotten it.

I'm not allowed to give blood. Hepatitus one thing or another aka Geelsig.

If I do need blood in an emergency my (Youngest) Brother and my dad is O- blood type. So there is 1L of blood I can get in minutes. Even 1.5L if it realy needs to be done.

I'm lucky there.

Also, afaik hospitals let you donate your own blood for big operations lately I think

fortunately for everyone (and the human race) I don't come into contact with a lot of people (at all)

I guess I might just be inclined to have sex in the next 4-6 years or something again, but I'll get tested before/after no worries.

Gratz on your awesome week thus far. Its only Tuesday! Who knows what might still be in store for you.

I'm very happy for you Pitbull, I think a lot of us were waiting to hear about your test (since you were so worried) and it is great news that you are HIV-.
