Can't I just have one on the input? I'm not really interested in other devices - I can figure out if usage was high at 9am on a Saturday, its probably due to the geyser.

You certainly can have it on just the mains. But if you want more detail, separate the geyser, AC, tumble dryer, anything with high loads. And of course that can be done in stages so just stick to the mains for now.

After much pain and trauma which ended up not being my solderless wiring but rather that PlatformIO didn't install properly I'm managed to manually flash my Basic to 6.1.1 and recover it.

Not risking an update again without a specific need or feature though.
 
Got the Efergy - could only install it at the blue circle, which seems like the input the the geyser, it comes from the main switch - bit out - but, my electrical experience isn't great - lucky to be alive :p

Sort of got it working in HA - need to play around with the time offset, it looks like its four hours out, so I'm assuming the +120 offset must be -120 offset.

One thing I didn't realise is it doesn't cater for "loading a prepaid amount" - so I'm going to have to calculate that based in an input in HA (as per pic)

Also a bit confused by their stats - the Daily and Monthly should be the same today.
 
Okay this one unit is driving me up the wall.

I've flashed it back to 5.14 which was quite stable, but even so it still drops off the network randomly. Doesn't seem to go offline as the uptime remains in tact but just like it loses network connectivity.

RSSI is 48% which isn't magical but isn't terrible either, besides the fact that it worked in this exact location for weeks without issue. Besides the other unit gets 30% and is never skipping a beat.

Is there possibly some kind of internal interference with these things? Maybe I should try taking the cover off and see if it improves?

Okay making some headway.

For some reason HA is flooding this device and that's what kills it off the network.

If I'm pinging it constantly and I turn HA off then it's responsive and I can trigger it happily without issue.

The moment HA goes on it starts timing out.

But only this one device....wtf.

Do a factory reset on the device and set up the mqtt stuff again from scratch. Maybe the newer version stored some garbage in the config area

Its also possible he has something unique in his HA setup for that specific switch. Rogue rule spamming it with turn on/off or something.

I would subscribe to the same topic on mqtt to see what HA is doing to the switch. Might lead you to the issue.

I've reconfigured the MQTT and that had no joy, but will try a full reset in a moment.

If I switch of MQTT in the device interface problem goes away immediately.

The three I had are identically configured except for a name variation "sonoff_name" so I don't see why that would be.

Reset hasn't worked, so I'm plugging away at it.
 
Honestly WTF.

I flashed back to 6.11 (this time with OTA) and the problem is gone. Something must somehow be creeping into the manual flashing that is causing this, probably some kind of corruption or some such.

Bizarre.

But now it's working and I'm not touching anything again.
 
Anyone know of any smart electric fence controller?

Thought of putting a Sonoff POW before the energizer, but forgot it has a backup battery.

What, you want to be able to turn the fence off remotely?
 
My energiser (Nemtek Wizord I think) has some remote inputs, so you should be able to just use a sonoff sv or something.

Yip looks easy enough. Connect the Sonoff output to the "switch" inputs and set the jumpers for switched input = remote switch.

That will turn it on and off, but how you'll figure out the state I have no clue. Easiest way is probably just to make sure that one of those flashers is visible in a cctv camera.

I'm assuming you'd still need to get power to the SV input?

Might still use the POW for this, or try find a similiar product that allows for power readings, if its using power, it must be on?
