Yup, and from my side thank you for all your help, fxit!

Ended up jailbreaking the phone yeasterday. Will also try to get some compressed air this weekend.

I doubt it will fix it but you can only try. And compressed air is a good thing to have in the cupboard anyways

Just an update from my side: finally tracked down a can of compressed air at Incredible Connection and it did wonders for my phone! Probably sprayed about half of it into the home button under different angles and it feels "clicky" again and I haven't experienced any problems again yet.
