HOME CIRCUMCISION GOES WRONG

I note those who support doing this to boys are not expressing support for doing it to girls. Females have plenty of "unnecessary" genital parts that serve no purpose other than sexual pleasure, therefore making them what you'd call useless. You also conveniently choose to ignore the deaths and permanent damage. All for a medical procedure of dubious merit, and which for some reason you feel the need to inflict on babies instead of allowing them to make this effectively irreversible choice for themselves when they're older.

Unfortunately I don't think there is an organisation to help you to stop assuming things about the people you're having a discussion with. You're definitely not afraid to judge everyone around you without any evidence though.

Oh c'mon his post indicated he is unhappy about circumcision yet he is circumcised, I was just sharing the informative link.

Huh? Ofcourse I knew there would be talk about children being circumcised, I was just stating the facts.
So why is the point moot just because we have laws about it in South Africa when we're discussing the ethical issues of it? Are you saying laws == ethics?

No, they have articles on the health benefits of circumcision.
Health benefits for your sexually active baby yes I remember you mentioning those.

Show me CDC/NHI reports that show female circumcision to be beneficial.

Sigh... please read my other answers.

Please read my other questions. If the versatility argument is the way you want to go, then I'm trying to understand where you draw the line? Toes? Ear muscles? Coccyx? How about male nipples? So please explain to me how you see the "versatility" argument working in your favour?

And your sarkiness towards anyone holding a different view to you is, whilst not surprising, extremely childish and not going to get you very far...

You were assuming there is a link. Big difference.

You assume that someone cannot be anti-circumcision without feeling psychologically damaged by their own circumcision. That is not a rational assumption.

Why are you going around in circles? Do you forget what is written on the previous pages of this thread?

Please would one of you guys trawl your pro-uncircumcision websites and give me a figure of what the average age and mortality rate of circumcisions in Western culture?

Well one would draw those types of assumptions give the emotional writing expressed here.

Apologies that was rather sarky, these chaps won't accept any other view except their own.

I was circumcised at age of 18 and have no problems with it. Love the way it looks and enjoy my sex life.

Great, would you mind sharing how long the procedure took, how much it cost and what the healing process was like?

I haven't once been emotional about the topic and you were directing the post towards me. To assume that I want my foreskin back because I'm opposed to circumcision is a rather poor extrapolation on your part. Ignoring the tone, it doesn't back up your statement that you work with "facts."

I'm not responding to those I'm responding to your claim that this is a moot point because South Africa has some laws.

I will when you give me a single reason to perform a circumcision on a baby. (hint: HIV transmission doesn't count).

Even it is less than 1% that still doesn't mean it is an acceptable risk for 0 benefit.

You interpret emotional responses where there are none then because I haven't seen these emotional responses.

That aside the fact that someone is passionate about the subject doesn't automatically mean that they regret their circumcision. They may just as easily be very passionate about human rights. You assumption is still unfounded.

0 Benefit at the time...

... who knows that sort of complications not having it done could lead to. Again these are all hypothetical maybes.

Well I guess it isn't easy picking up on proper emotions in text, the choice of words say a lot though. We'll have to agree on disagreeing here.

Exactly. Some risk (no matter how small) for zero benefit. Why on Earth would anyone take that chance with someone else's body?

Like I have said before I have no problem with circumcision. I merely have a problem with circumcising a baby.
