Home Connecta Flexi

Do you guys think this product is being throttled?

Or are Cellc/Mtn speeds inconsistent?

If speeds on Cell C are bad right now, just wait until thousands of new customers join the network. The current capacity already seems strained.

I have a question. I bought a new sim card. Do I test my speed or do I switch the tariff to home flexi then test? Im not sure if this will affect the speed?

@cavedog Do you know which frequency bands would be the best to use for Cell C on a Huawei B618-22d ?

So it depends what rollout your area has.

I stay in Centurion and the towers are still Cellc's own towers. That means band 1 and band 3 aggregated will work.

I'm away for the holoday in KZN and Cellc has MTN roaming here if I look at the bands being used which are Band 1, 3 and 8.

Thank you for this. It makes magic here in Reebok.

I am using the the Home Connecta Flexi 100GB deal (i.e. 50GB Anytime data, and 50GB Nite data).

I initiated a software update on my ipad at 4:50am this morning, and data was consumed from the Nite data allocation from 4:50am to 5:00am.
At 5:00am data from the Anytime data allocation began being consumed, instead of from the Nite data allocation.

In the process around 3GB from the Anytime data allocation was depleted between 5:00am and 5:59am this morning, when it should have consumed/depleted from the Nite data allocation.

Are the terms and conditions and FAQ's for the Home Connecta Flexi on the Cell C website incorrect ?

Or have I been cheated off 3GB from my Anytime data allocation ?

Can the Cell C rep please provide an explanation / clarity ? ? ?

The service seems to destroy SIM cards on my end. I've already had to do one SIM swap and the second SIM card seems to have defaulted as well. All this in the space of 3 days. Maybe there's something I'm doing incorrectly. I probably won't be jumping ship from Telkom like I planned to.

Would have been nice if MyBB could have done some tests as part of the story, as that "up to 150Mb/s is pure marketing mumbo jumbo of the highest degree. Bonus: conditions of the agreement between MTN and CellC (LOL-no)

Same. Good thing I did not go for the tempting 1TB offer. Oh well.

How do you convert airtime to home Connecta bundles? I don't see that option on the App

Hi there

You will be able to load airtime or purchase a bundle on cellc.co.za, the Cell C app, or by dialing *147*LTE#.

Cellc Rep please did you understand the question? I am in a similar situation. I have airtime loaded in Home Conneta sim. When I go to Cellc App and choose buy using airtime I don't see LTE option. If however I select to use card LTE option is there. How do I buy home connecta LTE bundles using already loaded airtime?

Speeds are extremely disappointing. It will average around 3 - 4Mbps. Highest I ever got was about 6Mbps but I very seldom get above 4Mbps.

Can you, and another person kind enough get another prepaid sim, load a rand or two of normal data and do speed tests back to back, this will make it clear if the package is being throttled or the infrastructure is just congested
