Probably cancel telkom sim i use in the car, think the contract is nearing its end anyway. Really good prices!

Anybody know pricing on calls? Might might this my main sim also

Can't make calls or send sms with this price plan. Data only
 
Please excuse my ignorance, what's the difference between the normal home connecta and the flexi package? Is the normal one a contract and the flexi one month-to-month type thing?

Normal is a 24 month contract and labeled as fixed LTE. That means that they may tower lock it.

Flexi is prepaid and can be moved around. Unfortunately flexi seems to only work on LTE (not 3G) so if you go into an area with 3G max coverage you'll lose connection.
 
Was hoping that this could be a solution for me because my VC data contract expires on 10/4 and what they are offering me is ridiculous.

I bought a sim, changed the package, and bought a bundle. I inserted the sim into my Huawei b618 but the speeds are shyte. Best I got this afternoon was 3Mbps. It went up a bit this evening to 5.2Mbps but that isn't acceptable.

you switch to roaming?

Hi there

You need to change your network settings to Automatic Network Selection, then switch on your Data Roaming. Once you're done, then you reboot.

Thanks for the help, will check that tonight once I get home. Will this then automatically let me go onto the mtn network even if I have cell c reception. Reason I'm asking is because the Cell C network is way slower then the Telkom, like under 2mbps download speeds.

It will allow you to use MTN's network.

Please notify us, should the struggle continue....

So the above is from the terms and conditions.

Now I know that some promotion deals from the various mobile operators have an "expiry" date on them. I'm also aware that many of the deadlines are simply ignored and they simply continue on past the ending date. So my question is this, is there a good chance that Cell C will continue these bundles past 30 September? I don't really have much experience with Cell C promotional bundles, so I'm not familiar with how strict they are with the cut-off dates. Does anyone please have any feedback on this? :-)

I was going to change to the 1TB bundle from my current internet provider, but if there is a chance it's only going to run for 5 months; I need to think about it a bit more :-)

I was not aware it was a promotion. Number 6 the T&C's I now see.

Speed are okay I guess. Not near the 100Mbps like MTN but it's usable.

Not particular to CellC... but this "spectrum/tower leasing" by the big players to the smaller ones... it just looks like another way to fix the prices and to control the market with a vice-loke grip

Thought about this when getting similar speedtest results as above and seeing "Hosted by Rain/MTN/etc" in the output.

Hope I'm wrong...
