Homemade Pizza

Pre made bases are okay. but if you want total freedom make your own base. I used youtube to get a recipe for that. then I stuffed the crust with sausage and cheese and it was amazing. Man now I am feeling hungry just thinking about it.

I just visit Hamster and breed off him for his homemade pizza.

But wraps from woolies. You cha choose the slimmers choice or the other type.
Put the oven on 180.
Bake the wrap for 5 minutes.

Take out and do what you need on top.
( I use leftovers. Mince Chicken. )
Or 3 Cheeses

Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is nice and bubbly.

Oh, if you like garlic but do not want to over do it. When the base comes out of the oven, cut a clove of garlic open and rub it on the base.

This was our 911 food for when I got home late or on Wednesdays when my yoga class is late.

I also grow fresh herbs , Rocket and basil. That always makes the pizza fantastic.

I made the flour and yogurt dough on Saturday with my meatball dough meal. It's quite effective and light but the dough is very wet so you need to use a lot of flour to keep it from sticking when you roll it out. Otherwise, very nice.

1) Make your own dough, do NOT buy them from a store. Hamster, nee wat. There is simply no comparison with the experience of tearing a chewy fresh thin slice of dough. It is not difficult, I promise. Flour, salt, yeast, warm water, sugar - bang:

2) Make your own sauce, do NOT 'smear some tomato paste' on. I have a go-to marinara that l use for any recipe that calls for it:
- Fry an onion in butter with garlic
- Add a tin of tomatoes and a cup of chicken stock and let it simmer down
- Add a small glug of balsamic vinegar, a large glug of worcestershire, chopped parsley, a sprinkle of sugar, and season
- Puree with a blender.

Easy.

That nutella marshmallow pizza looks the bomb.
Flour = mess = so not worth the effort if you aren't entertaining or just want to get something going on a weeknight.

Took me 5 minutes to make that yogurt dough. It's totally worth it if you value flavor at all.

I'll definitely try this over the weekend

Anybody have good bread, flatbread and or pizza recipes?

I want to learn how to make my own bread and thought it might be easier to start with a flatbread, which I can then use for naan, pita or pizza. Any favourite recipes? I don't want to use self-raising flour and I don't have a blender so I will have to learn how to knead the dough by hand, unless you have a good no-knead recipe.

I bought a few packets of 10g instant yeast and a kilo of whole wheat bread flour. I've been looking at these two recipes:

Flatbread

http://lekkerreseptevirdiejongergeslag.blogspot.co.za/2015/07/flat-bread.html
360g Cake flour
1X10g Sachet of instant yeast
2 Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
1½ Cups (375ml) warm water
3 Tbsp Extra olive oil
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Make the flatbread by mixing together the flour, instant yeast, sugar and salt.
Add the water and knead for 10 minutes to form soft dough. If the dough is too dry add more water, if too wet add more flour.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and leave to prove (rise) for 1 hour.
Once proven, knock out the air and roll into a rough rectangular shape.
Place on a floured baking tray, bake for 20 minutes, then remove and brush with olive oil.

PIZZA DEEG

http://lekkerreseptevirdiejongergeslag.blogspot.co.za/2013/03/pizza-idees-deeg.html
500 ml koekmeel
5 ml sout
1 x 10g kits suurdeeg
5 ml suiker
100 ml olie
240 ml lou warm water
1. Gooi alles in die voedselverwerker en knie goed.
2. Laat rys so in die bak tot dubbeld en pulse weer goed.
3. Rol baie dun uit. Sit tamatie en uiesous op en enige vulsel.
4. Bak 20 min in warm oond.

I use wraps as pizza bases, they are super thin, and already made.

I generally use the thickest wrap I can find, and first grill the wrap, get it a little crispy, then put the toppings and grill again.

Not sure how healthy you want to be?
This recipe is the easiest for a beginner and the dough can be made for pizza and flat bread , but not so good for tramezzini
I use a terracotta patio tile in my oven and just drop my bread or pizza base on top of it
According to the French government and my self , bread needs only flour , salt , yeast and water ;)

I used to do the same kind of thing, utilise store-bought bases. Now I want to learn how to do it myself, though. I have the time and I think it's a good skill to have, from making rotis to soda bread.

Ah, great! Doesn't have to be super healthy but I've always preferred whole wheat bread to white bread anyway. Going to watch the video now. Found two videos about roti and naan which also look great.

My first attempt. Came out great, I thought. This is the recipe I used.

Flatbread
http://lekkerreseptevirdiejongergeslag.blogspot.com/2015/07/flat-bread.html

I changed the flour to about 200g cake flour and about 160g whole wheat bread flour. Also, I only used half the dough and rolled it out as thin as I could since I like thin, crispy pizza bases. Happy to say the flatbread came out exactly as I hoped, with a slightly chewy center.

My result:

Step 2 in learning how to bake my own bread: Bread rolls. My brother made the fried chicken in the air fryer.

I used this recipe for the bread rolls, more or less. Added some whole wheat bread flour.

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2902668/easy-white-bread-rolls

500g Bread flour (white or wholemeal)
7g (One sachet) Fast-action yeast
1 1/2 tsp Caster Sugar
2 tsp Salt
300ml Luke warm water
3 tbsp Olive oil
Plus extra flour for dusting
