Congrats on everyone's hard work in getting us over the 30K+ fan mark today. We are preparing a large patch for the game today and after that goes out we will send out the keys to all our Facebook fans

Nope.. all my game loads are sloooooooow. I wasnt the only one complaining about it. I guess our problem is we are comparing it to dota loads.. which is way faster.

Its that load... when you join a game but before you are actually in it. Its painfully slow.

I played with Glacias or something like that last night. I think its a clone of Crystal Maiden. I played it for one game and then I missioned back to the war3 server.

I didnt do too badly and got a couple of kills.. but there are some really annoying things about it. If theyre ganna make my character so small on such a large map at least let me zoom out a bit more so I dont just see 5 meters in front of me.

I can feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel the latency.. theyre ganna have to make the game lannable and bring it local for it trump dota in popularity. I will admit.. I only had a ping of around 250ms.. but still .. thats make or break in dota and should be make or break in this game.

I think most of my problems stem from not being used to the game... so I am going to give it more time.

The towers suck badly :( They could have made them soooo much cooler.
 
1. DotA cant zoom out either, unless you use that hack

2. latency is an SA problem

3. It handles bad latencies MUCH, MUCH better than dota...however, it uses more bandwidth..

4. The Towers suck? IMO the graphics blows DotA out of the water - have you seen the shader they use if someone is invis? what about the water & ripple FX? bubbleboy's orb ? (Im running on 1920x1080 on full btw)

PS: My game takes about 7-15 seconds to load, when entering a game server - it's not that slow....?


IMO DotA had a lot of heroes that were sucky - I could NEVER play with meepo and a few others, and hated it if we played "all random"

Havent encountered a sucky HoN hero - even the healing fairy rules!

Well I am glad you are having a great experiences.. since I am a South African of course a South African problem is going to bother me :confused:

The latency is a factor.. I wasnt complaining about how how pretty the graphics are.. they are better.. I was making a comment more on what they look like (the towers only!!!.. they look like sign posts).

My game takes .. 50-90 seconds to join a game server.. where with Dota it takes 10 seconds to load.

Im sure it handles bad latency better, but thats not good enough for a competitive game. If it wants to become a competitive game they are going to need local or lan servers.

Im sorry you have trouble playing meepo.. his actually broken in my opinion with a good player.

Also.. is there a copy right on "Double kill!".. cause "Double tap!" is lame.

there is a lan option. not unlocked yet.

they also record every game - anyone will be able to see any game, from anyone, at any time - it's gonna be awesome!

agreed with the Double Tap - but the voice is MUCH cooler (esp. bloodlust)

the voice isn't copied from Unreal tournament at least....

as for the latency - yes, it is a South African problem and of course it is going to bother you - but have you checked the WoW threads?

try playing any game which is hosted overseas. not HoNs fault.
 
Something about the loading times - I notice when I play on a machine with decent graphics, the game loads somewhat faster than when playing on a similar system with a lower spec graphics card. I can see how this would influence in-game performance, but loading times?? Anyway, it was just a random observation. maybe try configuring your settings a bit more :)
 
Okay.. this is the second time this has happened.. joined a game.. can see everyone picking heros and talking but i cant talk and I am still in the chat window? Now I have two disconnects :(
 
Plaed second game with a bunch of screw ups. Not pleasant at all. Kept complaining as I was levelling quick enough, frusrated me as the game was called noobs-something.
 
trust me, it's better than hitting level 6 and not being able to join those games at all - some guys are already hard core man - losing is the worst

Awww, meepo rules. The only thing that sucks about him is it kills your fingers, continously toggling between 4 heroes and then using the hotkey to net
 
Got it downloaded yesterday and had a test run last night. Seems good but my iburst connection is not gonna make it. Gonna try again tonight.

BTW if i host my "own" server and i get disconnected and somebody else joined will they be kicked?

So gonna make one tonight "plz dont hurt me" join if you wanna laugh :)
 
did you guys get any major problems? apparently they are having some patching difficulties and thats why they arent releasing the keys yet ?

Nah, was around 20:30. It was really not a nice experience. Made me remeber why I stopped playing DotA. You get a bunch of teeange geeks saying stuff to you they would dare saying to anyone IRL.

But, I'm not ready to quit yet. Will try a game again tonight. Hopefully with no a-holes :D
 
Hi Guys. Patch 1.30 has been released. Busy updating now.It's about 28MB. So hopefully they'll send those keys out soon.

I have found the HoN community to be quite friendly, except for 2 or 3 guys.. (I've played A LOT of games so far)

We should start a thread where we can all post our HoN Nicknames - so us as a mybb community can play against each other :)

(Not sure if it's going to have better pings though - think the server is still overseas, isn't it? even if one of us host a game?)
