HoN open beta soon, hurry!

cool thing i noticed though - if your connection disconnects, you can re-connect back into the game! pretty awesome if you ask me!

it's not like dota that when 1 person lags, the rest of the players suffer with stupid error messages...

I saw that as well... Which is much better than the dota version for when either my 3g connection goes haywire (which happened on the odd occasion), or someone else seems to have problems, (which usually happens right as you are about to deliver the finishing blow... and then when everything comes right, they manage to have gotten away).
And then either you end up with "sort your connection out or leave" spam plastering your screen, or you join in and spam the other guy :D

I also notice that the HoN community is more tolerant of noobs and mistakes, etc and seem to promote learning. Or at least that's how it was last night... Which is a refreshing change from the usual dota crowd - if you want a decent game then I've noticed it's best to play in the wee hours of a Saturday morning, when all the kiddies have gone to bed...

Omg.. this game is awesome.

They have basicaly fixed all the problems with dota, upgraded the graphics engine and just made it more awesome !

I played like 3 games last night... loved every second of it.

Can someone provide me with a link to the gameplay basics .... I joined a game (one that allowed noobs) and it was unpleasant as I was clueless.

This game is definately not newb friendly at all. No matchmaking yet etc and you get ex dota players that pwn with their first ever HoN game.

First off enable team colors. There's a button above your minimap. That should make the team easy distinguisable. Stick to lower player count games. 3 v 3, 2 vs 2. Try and get some friends to play with.

There's also a relative good newbie guide somewhere on the beta forums that explain the basics, must use search function though. Can't access international atm.

just play it - you will learn, fast!

the game will take years to truly master - but that's what makes it so great!

Aaah! after mastering dota, I think this would be easy to grasp! Though I'm on local cap so I really need to get some intl bandwidth to download the beta since my friend mailed me a key!

Anyone happen to have a spare key, my brother would love this.

Anyone else got an invite to spare? Pretty please. Need to try this game!!

I've got 3 Beta keys ready to go!
Fresh as pie - get 'em while their still hot!

Send me a Private Message WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS! I need the e-mail addy to invite you.

This is exactly what I did in the end ... was more pleasant that having abuse being sent to me for being a noob (even though the game I joined was noob-friendly).

Where do I find a list of keyboard commands? For example how to I write to a chat channel in game?

Check on the HoN forums, there is quite a lot of information there. Haven't read everything there yet, as I had to come to work about an hour ago. But you should be able to find it there. :)

Go to your configure controls menu and check out what actions, commands there are.

It's basicaly the same as war3 for most part.

Enter = Speak to alies
Shift + Enter + Speak to all

Alt click minimap pings something.

Shift + Right clicking on the terrain gives you waypoints.

Don't foget to assign hold position to space bar or something. That maks you stop moving/attacking and makes last hitting easier. Killing a creep when it's on low health to gain gold.
You can also deny an alied creep by pressing A and attacking it while on low hp. This denies the enemy some experience and gold (stops them from getting th kill).

The ' or " button shows health bars.

Don't forget to enable Team/Ally colors. There's a button just above your minimap.

That way you can easily see whos friend or foe and everyone health.

OMG Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you! :)

didn't know you could assign a key to "hold position"

I play with blood hunter and he keeps attacking everything by himself - he doesn't stop!

Other tips:
If you see madman or Scout - Run!
