Sorry for the long text, I tried to make it easier to read.
Where to start!
1st incident.
My Rio developed a rattle in the dashboard wich was a very common problem on the kia rio,a TSB was issued from kia south korea on how to fix the problem.I booked my vehicle in and the problem was fixed.
2nd incident.
A rattle devolped in the handbrake lever, i booked my vehicle in and the advice was to replace the lever.the lever was ordered under warranty, after waiting more than a month i contacted kia boksburg to know if the lever was there, kia had no knowledge of a lever being ordered, turns out they forgot to order the lever.I went back to kia boksburg to re-do the warranty process.waited for another month without a call,I called and i was informed they forgot to take fotos of the lever and i must come back! I went back and they took the foto's,waited another month without a call,i called and was informed the part arrived two weeks ago.
3rd incident.
my rio developed a rattle in the steering column, booked my vehicle in about 5 times trying to rectify the rattle, after the 6th time a new column was ordered under warranty, waited more than a month without a call,i called and was informed they have no knowledge of a warranty claim, went back and did the warranty process again, waited more than a month without a call,i called and was told once again the part arrived two weeks ago.
I Booked my vehicle in for the replacement column, i fetched my vehicle two days later and to my horror my steering column made a strange noise with a vibration and very "lightness" when driving less than 10 km/ph, my indicators did not want to engage and the column basically fell on my lap.
Took the vehicle back and kia boksburg "contacted" a specialist technician from head office to have a look at my vehicle. Turns out they never did so and i emailed the specialist myself.
I was informed i had to take my vehicle to kia edenvale, they advice to replace the column again. The column was replaced again with the same noise and vibration with the "lightness" of the steering feel. I booked my vehicle in 6 times to rectify this.what was the problem? Calibration of the steering column!! My column is used on various kia's and hyundai's with different computer boxes and setting, as this is a eps(electronic steering system) so kia Boksburg, kia Edenvale nor did the main specialist from kia head office knew they have to recalibrate the steering column.. Drove home and noticed that there was a ticking noise in the column when i turn right I left for durban the next day, a lot of fog on they road, switched my Hazards on, not working!! This was due to kia forgetting to plug the Hazards back in.I came back 2 days later, went to kia edenvale furious regarding the clicking noise and the hazards not working(without making a booking) I received absolutely no sympathy from kia edenvale service advisor.
I was told to book my vehicle in after a month because they were very busy, this was in december last year.
I booked my vehicle in again in february, march and april about 7 times.
In these times the clock spring was replaced and indicator stolk to cure the clicking noise in the column when turning right.
I phoned head office and spoke to a lady named Fiona, they order an investigation into this matter.
I got an email 5 days later informing me,according to the investigation the senior technician at head office could not here the "imaginery sound", and i was reffered to the vehicle ombudsman.
It is Very strange since the senior technician at head office does not even know about the noise that was created by him, he never even heard the noise.
I Drove to head office in edenvale, i demanded to speak to the customer relation officer.he heard the noise and acknowledged it.
I asked him how the investigation was conducted and told him there was never an investigation..received a bunch of excuses.
I was told they will phone me to book my vehicle in this early this week (Monday or Tuesday) as one of the technicians know what the problem might be and that they will arrange a loan vehicle.
So far i have not receiveid any phone calls or emails from the customer relations department.
It is shocking!!! The service that i have received thus far from these guys.
I already tried to get the contact details of someone senior at kia head office.but this information was constantly denied to me.
Apart from their horrible service kia scratched my plastics in my car without taking any liability for it.
this has been going on for the last year and a half!
Any advice on what to do next will be appreciated.
