How can we improve MyBroadband?

1. Like some already mentioned, have some of the community members contribute with articles, you could even do it in a completely separate section.
2. Have more reviews of techy stuff, and I mean full on reviews. Create youtube videos if you have to.
3. NB: When asking for feedback from the community, give us feedback on how the comments have influenced the decisions you have made, or are going to make.

Would be nice.

It sometimes feels like mybb|management is the dad who's kid grew up and no longer knows how to relate. I get the sense they're quite out of touch with how the forum feels about things, or else don't really care to change things.

I know, but he was still one of the forum mites I really wanted to meet IRL the most. after the Braai with Morty the only person left on the list is Voicy, the rest will come with time. I see myself attending a cape town meet up one day as well...
 
Ban more people regularly. The forum is the main forum in the country, but trolling is encouraged on mybb - look at other posts talking about trolling - it is just supported by people saying how entertaining trolling is and how important it is on mybb.

These people are in the minority yet their trolling forces people onto other forums where trolling is not encouraged and where they have a higher chance of getting a decent response.

This kind of thing +

- Keep your finger on the pulse of the tech trending discussions on the site (not the bum fluff "off topic", political and other junk) and use those as input for good ideas (the home networking thread comes to mind)

- more smilies please (the :crylaugh: one was a good start but we want more)

- a visible 'thank you' button - the rep button is a poor subsititute

- drop that stupid "most pirated movies" weekly article - it adds no value to anyone's life

- properly researched comparisons between various ISP's and other technical providers

- a MyBB recommended list of hardware and software (Top 10) with reasons for why you recommend them in the context of South Africa

Since there appear to be so many lazy posters, is there any way that the "default mode" for quoting other posts which include images/videos simply includes text and the reply (which might or might not include a new image) and not repeat the OP's image/video to which the reply is responding?

IOW, if someone quotes a post which has only an image (no text) - then they would have to actively enable that image if they (for some unknown reason) really desire that the image/video be repeated. The quote might then look something like this:

rather than the original example post that includes the quoted image as well . This often leads to someone else having to post - yet again - something along the lines of:

There are sometimes like 20 repeats of large images.

Don't know if it's been posted already but I like to use the mobile site a lot and right now I cannot just click a button to show all the latest posts for the day. Also I cannot do a speed test from MyBB when on mobile site.

OR give a clear explanation why someone gets banned not rumors, give the cause.

Create a thread called banned users.

When a user gets banned add to the tread, only mods are allowed to post on the thread.

It's not for discussion it's purely for transparency something you are lacking.
 
I for one like the fact that MyBB republishes articles from around the web, that way I can go to MyBB and not having to search through the rest of the sites. However, I do think that there should a be few more original articles of high quality.
