Please tell me i have been hijacked 3 times in 2 months and have been held at gunpoint twice

By humiliating and torturing the criminals in such an inhumane and public way that they wish they were never born? Some things are worse than death. Also hold the criminals families responsible. We dont really care if its fair, aslong as it makes the criminals think twice, its worth it.

I see no other way to stop crime. We are too far gone. The death penalty wouldn't help all that much either. Death is easy. Torture and humiliation is not easy.

Close the freaken borders so the damn Zimbabweans and Mozambicans can stay in their own miserable country

Get tinted windows.
Drive a normal car that doesn't have "hijack me" written all over it.
Change your routine (they watch you!)
Get security... like bars and ADT etc.

And, just hope for better luck ;)

Giving everyone a million dollars wouldn't even stop crime for a day. Don't be ignorant.

With people who choose to commit crime, the psychologists / criminologists will tell you that those people's "locus of control" is situated outside of them.

Plain English: they blame everyone but themselves for their situation: apartheid, their boss, the current government, their spouse, etc etc.

Was coming off corlett drive yesterday on my way home from work..
woman in front of me got smash n grabbed, and as the guy turned the corner (onto the highway) there were metro there who saw the whole thing..
they jumped out their car, tackled him, and one of them gladly kicked the motherf($*@r in the face.
It was so lovely to see, I smiled all the way home.

We need more cops. Everywhere.

I know, but i'll always have the memory to keep me warm at night..

He had this sad look on his face right before he got kicked..
Now he is a doughnut in jail (until a week passes and he is released)

Still, so great to see

how to stop crime? easy, pay the cops, teachers and public workers more.
more money = less bribery = more diligence = decreased crime = better life for all of us saffers (or is that sufferers?)
:D
Start cutting hands off.:o
oh yeah, and that too ;)

It is now too late for anyone to stop crime in general in SA.
You can just lower your chances of being a victim of crime. Some ideas that worked for me:

1) Live in a safer part of the country.
2) Have proper home security (gates, fences, armed response, etc.)
3) Live in a secure complex.
4) Don't drive expensive cars. Family sedans are best since hijackers don't like to hijack cars they think may have children inside. If you want to drive an expensive car, get a rare vintage car. They won't hijack that.
5) If you have to drive at night, get other people to drive with you, i.e. make the car as full as possible.
6) Always keep your eyes open when outside. Look around and try to spot criminals.
7) Avoid dangerous areas. Always draw money from safe and crowded ATMs.
8) Drive a reliable car.
9) The usual tourist rules: don't carry valuables in sight, etc. etc.
10) Have a passport ready and make sure you have funds and a backup plan for evacuating the country, should it become so bad that even with all the above 9 implemented, you become repeatedly a victim of crime.

1) 3 large males or even normal looking males in cars scare criminals .
2) high durawall or some form of protection on your place of residence .
3. if a car is following u and u are suspicious , go past a police station or phone some 2 meet you .
4. learn an african language .
5. most important , remember faces . when driving past someone or walking past someone it is important to take note of their face
