How do I activate 3.6

I can remember something about smsing "HSDPA ON" to a number or sumthin.... help?

/me is off to spar to get another 2GB bundle + R50 Airtime....

SMS HSDPA 3.6 ON to 123
Remember it's not free they charge you R49.00 from your airtime for 3.6G
 
oh, BTW - how long does it take to activate?

(waiting for cap to finnish before i can add a bundle...)
 
How do you know if your tower supports 3.6?
or do all existing 3G towers automatically support it?

I would hate to waste another R49 per month for something that might not benefit me in one way.

HSDPA 3.6 is enabled on ALL 3G and HSDPA sites :)
 
Cool, thanks for the quick reply I will phone 155 now and ask them activate it. I tried SMS'ing that code to 123 but that's only for prepaid. Thanks Iam3G :)
 
HAHA! What a waste of 50 BUCKS! Vodacom is so slow lately hence the reason I took the 3.6 for R50 Option. Still just as slow with 3.6 enabled.

DAMN. I thought my internet was slow due to everyone being on 1.8, and it's gonna FLLYYYY on 3.6! nope, still slow as a turtle.

Vodacom, please enable me to use your bundles! Don't you know - The faster I download the more Money I Spend!

It was so fast a month or two ago when I got this modem....... this country sucks.

If you get slow speed on 1.8, it won't be any faster to enable 3.6. The 3.6 service just give you more headroom, so I'd only try it if I was getting the full 1.8.

What are you currently getting on http:/speed.vodacom.co.za?
