... walking through the city.

Avoid stopping unnecessarily.

Keep keys in your hand or your hand in your pocket.

Avoid bumping into people AND people bumping into you.

If you're at a dodgy intersection, don't stay in one place.

Side note: I left the title open hoping to inspire similar threads.

Also, the information I've provided isn't specifically aimed at South Africa alone.

pffft...Mitchell's Plain born and raised...what is safety?

Look like you are trouble waiting to happen and people will try their best to avoid you.

i am imagining you looking like someone on shrooms whilst applying your list.

Your input could be valuable.

That is input in its own. If you walk around scared then you will get robbed. And it's also best you know in what neck of the hood you walking in.

Rather, in what places wouldn't you walk?

Bonteheuwel
Lavender Hill
Bishop Lavis
Beacon Hill
Manenberg
etc.

How would you walk around Mitchells Plain? Are there colors to avoid?

It really depends on where in M.Plain, and the time of day. But I would walk my walk and anyone that wants to rob would first want to know who you are before you get robbed. And if you can't stand for yourself there then it's over.

The only people that I try to avoid is loafers and people that try to wash your windshield

Parking your car at night on the side of the road?

Don't leave anything at all that may imply that there's value in your car at all. Take your radio out, even your Sunglasses/Glasses pouch must be nowhere. Preferably not even in your glove box. Somebody saw my Ray Ban pouch in my center console and smashed my windows only to find no Ray Bans inside them, just an empty pouch.

STOP this racist attitude. Crime is happening all over the world.

HUH???

Racist? I am coloured and those places are predominantly coloured. Most of the coloureds know that in the areas listed, it is not a place to just take a stroll in. I speak of experience because I've been in these areas and my family comes from these areas, and I grew up in M.Plain...It was a suggestion for a thread title change.

So where do you find any racism in this??? Are you from the EFF?
